360 Sales Growth Were Not Large in 2009
Microsft did not see much growth in the numbers for 360 hardware sales in the U.S. last year. Numbers were extremely low compared to the ones from 2008.

360 sales rose only 0.74 percent in 2009, up to 4,770,700 units sold from 4,735,560 in 2008. By comparison, PS3 sales finally gathered pace in 2009, thanks to the introduction of PS3 Slim and a price cut. In 2008, Sony sold 3,544,800 units of the machine in the US, rising a substantial 22.28% to 4,334,500 last year.

The race between Sony and Microsoft in 2009 ended in what seemed like a very close race. Sony sold 436,200 more consoles than Microsoft over the 12-month period.

Below are some graphs of the data. The first graph shows PS3 and 360 sales for 2008, and the second graph is for 2009.

While the figures show that Xbox sales have slowed and PS3 sales are up it does not show past years sales figures
The xbox has been around for longer than the PS3 and i bet the earlier sales were good, i predict a slowdown of PS3 sales and if compared to the xbox over the same amount of sales years they would probably be quite close
