Welp, been laid off, 3 years been with the same company. Walked in this morning and was told, "we no longer need you," and as I was a contractor, no pay out :(

It's not really 3 years of wasted time, I did find my favourite thing working with VMWare and Virtualisation.

Fortunately I've (possibly) found a new job at $10 p/h more than I was earning (please pray to whatever God(ess) you believe in I get it)

3 years of being belittled by someone that "knows" more. 3 years of being belittled by someone 10 years younger.

Glad it's over! And Thank God for Family and Digiex!

Glad we helped in whatever way you think was needed BonezOz :D. I've been at my current workplace for almost 4 years (middle of May I think I started) and they're still making redundancies. Things aren't looking great so I'll probably be in the same sort of situation you've found yourself in though I'm not contracted like you were (I'll get redundancy pay etc).

Hey if you need someone else to belittle you. I'm sure I can try and fill in, I think I meet the age requirements too.

Sad news to hear about the job, by the sounds of it you have gained a lot of valuable experience in your previous job which will help you find a job with better pay... and hopefully a nicer boss too.

Good luck with the job you have found, hope you get it. a new start at $10 p/h more cant be bad at all! fingers crossed (yn)

Sorry to hear about the job loss mate. As InsaneNutter mentioned, it sounds like you gained a lot of good experience from the job that will serve you well in the long run. Really hoping you get this new job, it sounds like you will be better off with it than you were with the other job. Hope all goes well for you ;).

I've had a few recruiters already call this morning. One job pays the same as my current salary, but also includes a company car. Another role is offering $50 p/h and the final one is offering a start of $60 p/h. I should hear about interviews either this afternoon or sometime early next week.

Just an update. I've been hired by an outsourcing company and begin working different projects (VMWare vSphere role outs) starting on Tuesday (Monday's a public holiday here). It's not as much as I wanted, but it's more than my last job paid, and more than they ever would pay.

Congrats on managing to gain employment again so quick (Y) more money is always good.

Good luck with the new job!
