hey guys, any of ya ran the FF14 Benchmark or checked the specs yet?i have n got a score of 218.for those not knowin what the score system is, wer to dl the benchmark, etc, check this link

    FINAL FANTASY XIV Official Benchmark

well from what iv read on the specs, ya need an

i7, 2gb ram, nvidia gtx 460 with 768mb or equivalent, win 7 etc

thats a bit high spec if ya ask me.when i get a new g' card i think il meet min or just above min requirements if it goes by that.BUT i came across this in a forum stating the Jap specs of ff14 ant they are completely diff spec rates.

I don't think any game released at the moment will require an i7 just to run, such high specs would really limit your target audience. The recommended specs of a dual core 2ghz you linked to in that post look believable.

I got 2352 in that benchmark.

im guessing mine is just my g' card then as im using on board graphics at the mo as the only high spec game iv been playing is WoW.

hoping that when i upgrade to a ATI Radeon 5570 my score will be much better.

my benchmark score follows in the attachment.

Onboard graphics are useless for gaming as you likely know, upgrading to a decent dedicated graphics card would make every game out today playable on your pc.
Your processor is fine looking at that screenshot, you likely have plenty of ram too.

My scores are wretched, so i'll either had to mod the PS3 somehow or never play this game. I don't think it helps that TuneUp did lower the priority of it but I doubt it made really any difference on the score.

i have 4gb ram so i meet recommendations on that lvl but i still dont see how the J and US/UK specs could be so much greater.

you using 'on board' graphics as well Dark Scyth?the PS3 version is due for march i think and it'll run FF14 with no probs at all im guessing, but why would the pc version require around 10x more then what the PS3 can do? :/

Yeah, this was using my laptop so its the horrible ATI Radeon 3100 for me. I just got a new Idea to see if it'll boost my scores, will post back. Nevermind, increased loading times and only raised my score by 3 points.

It doesn't, the PS3 graphics chipset is based on the Nivida GeForce 7800, despite how old the graphics chipset is compared to ones out today its still hundreds of times better than any onboard graphics solution you will find in PC's and Laptops.

Im sure a cheap-ish £50-60ish graphics card would play this game fine.

just been talkin to a friends whos playing the beta at the mo n she's said that :

don't take the benchmark as gospel. its shit. it doesnt take into account dual cores.

i then asked about the game and she replied:

its shiny... very shiny and its definately not another WoW.

:) im gunna pre order the spec edition next week cause ya also get an 'account authenticator' with it, aswel as other stuff like an in game item, etc.

The reason the PC version takes alot more is probably due to the fact the PC version is gonna have a lot more added effects. PS3 and Xbox360 and all the gaming counsels have similar graphics but the amount of detail that is really in the game is decreased by a lot. So basically, PC is gonna look better, so will require a bit more power to run it. PS3 will be definitely looking good, but if you tried to compare the too with screen shots, you would see the difference.

The score isn't going to be exactly the same every time, also depending if you had programs going one time and the other it could slightly alter the results depending if you had programs that would affect your RAM or CPU load.
