If anyone has been in the server over the past few days, they would know of the choas which has been happening. A forced update was applied a few days ago to both clients and server which broke so much, we have invisiable players, people not picking up items, to people not being able to connect. Over the past few days there have been 4 forced updates to try and patch it, were currently at 1.2.3_04 for the client. The problem is, as these are minor updates the server will not refuse connections from anyone whos on 1.2.3 _01 to _04. However for bug free play, you MUST be using _04 to connect. You can connect with the lower versions, but you can expect major bugs from losing all your stuff, dieing for no apprant reason and more. This was all caused by the buggy forced update from 1.2.2 to 1.2.3 a few days ago, and it may continue to change over the coming days. If you want to connect bug free, buy the game as that will auto-update every time you load it. If your being cheap and won't by it, your need 1.2.3_04 to play at present. I will update this as the continued bug fixes come out. Iv had to update the server to 3 different versions to, its becoming a nightmare to play. At present, health is turned off, howeverr monsters and animals are now on. Except for the ones that explode as they damage the enviroment and peoples buildings. The health will be turning on as soon as possible; once its confirmed bugs are fixed.
The Minecart Train System is now built on the server, allowing fast travel between Finland, and the Mainland. You guys were the only ones in it when it locked up, so whatever you did crashed it. Was most likely you guys messing with the physics. So go scream at yourself.
Ok, sorry about the screaming, but everyone was screaming on minecraft so I decided to scream here... Sorry again.
Yeah well imagine how the rest of us felt. We werent even in the server, and the actions by one of you four or five in there has deleted a days worth of work for us to. Luckily a backup was made just after me and the king finished the train system (Sunday Night). But the actions of one of you lot (You and whoever else was in at the time, it started 10 minutes before the crash) caused everyones work to go missing. Then the lot that caused it, then scream at us. Its not really fair. Someone was either messing around with TNT, Buckets or Minecarts as thats what causes a server lock up, and sometimes when it locks up it fails to commit the changes to the saved file. Then again there is a slim chance it was a random crash, but in the two weeks of running the server, a out of the blue crash has never happened, as is always caused by someone putting to much stress on the alpha built of Minecraft. Me and Dark or the King werent in, so we dont know what you guys were doing.
Warning : An update is hitting tomorrow according to the creator of the Minecraft. The Digiex server will NOT be updated till 6pm GMT (As ill be at work). If you get offered the update earlier than 6pm and want to play in the server before then, do not accept the upgrade (Apprantly were getting a choice with future upgrades instead of auto applying them)
I've just made these. Should be useful for something like a map. I know that's what I'll use these for! At least when I'm exploring now I'll know where I'm going and and where I want to go! Normal - Normal map overview. Heightmap - Shows the high points in the map, such as my tower. Highest Points are in Red. Heightgray - Shows the high points in the map, such as my tower. Highest Points are in White. Slice - A general cut out of the area we've explored so far. Oblique - A nice, but bit messed up image. Similar to Normal but towers and such stick out on it better. Oblique-angle - The best image I think. Also similar to the normal and oblique images, just angled and not messed up! Looks amazing I think. Download these images here
