I would assume everything is the same as the end result is loading ANY homebrew .xex adds data to the profile signed in.

So if a game is loaded from DVD, a Games on Demand container or a Quickboot shortcut no homebrew is been used to launch the game so no additional data is added to the profile.

May I make a new request if it is not too much trouble?

Does using Dash launch (2.05) affect a profile? In the way Xexmenu 1.1 or Xexloader do?

And if so, how about when the profile is loaded in game (on a JTAG system with Dash Launch 2.05)?

And finally when the profile is loaded and in game to press the guide button to either exit to the NXE (12611 Freeboot) or to log out of profile (on a JTAG system with Dash Launch 2.05)?

I know these are a lot of asks, I hope I'm not angering the Op by asking, but this thread is all kinds of win and was hoping we could keep up with the new changes also...

    Hi
sorry to resurrect an old thread, but notice you didn't cover XBLA games?
I can run these using quickboot no worries, but I have head you can be banned as playing XBLA games is a big no-no as it's not like disc based games where you could have played them at a mates, someone on another forum mentioned something about a code assigned to the console the game is bought for!? Just wondered if this was an issue wit Live Arace games?
    Cheers

I have updated the guide with testing done in 12611 the dashboard (Built with FbBuild 0.11)

Nope you are fine to use Dashlaunch, it basically just adds / updates patches that are allready in FreeBoot, its not like running a homebrew application. Use the 360 how you normally would, use the guide / dashboard as normal.

Nope, not what im aware of anyway.

I have added Test 9 – Load an arcade game on a legit console then on a Jtag for you. You can use arcade games as normal. Its just like playing the game on a friends console, the profile you are playing on does not need to have a licence, that has never been the case.

    Quick Question :)

    Hi InsaneNutter,

first GREAT work for this information ! You did what I was trying to figure out on my own but didn't have the time so a big THANK YOU !

If I understand your information.. technically if I load my profil while i'm IN the game (ex: at the main menu) no matter how I load the game (Freestyle Dash, XEX, etc..) We should be fine.

The only time that your profile receive new data is if you are signed in any homebrew (Freestyle dash, Xexmenu, xexloader etc...)

Can you confirm and correct me.

My goal is to be able to use Freestyledash as my main dashboard without auto sign in and once I load my XBLA unlocked or my 360 games from USB drive, log with my profile and play.

Now another test that you could do in you have time :)
If I quiet the game and return to Freestyle dash and still login with my profil does it add data to it. I'm using Dashlaunch to remap the Y=Return tu dashboard so that it reload Freestyle instead of MS dashboard.

If you need more info let me know

    Thx !

    Yup you got it.

Yes Freestyle will still add data to your profile, having anything load when you quit the game is exactly the same as having it load when your console is powered on, or simply loading it from the NXE dash. You can not be signed on a live profile with any homebrew app / game loaded up.

    thx

Thx for answer 1 :) that work for me.. I'm used to log once i'm in the game anyways :) I'll continue like that.

For answer 2... it make sense.. I should log off before quitting the games and after return to the dashboard (FSD2.x).

if I would return to Microsoft dashboard I could stay login.

I think I might have by accident return to the freestyle dash without login off.. but so far i'm not bad. hopefully nothing will happen to my profile.. but i'm sure it's less dangerous than having fake achievement like Snes emulator.
but I won't risk it anyways.

    ???

I was thinking about something.. what if microsoft use the gamerscore list to ban the profile.. ex: they notice you have over 5000 point in gamerscore just with xbox live arcade games and none of the game have been bought by you.. could they ban you ?

I know that technically I Could have play those game at a friend who own those game.. but there's a date on each achievement and we won't have that date.. because we did those achievement offline... so it's just wierd that you have 5000 point offline.. that you do not own any of those games... ? I have no idea if you following me ? :)

I "think" that you will be fine because I have got many points offline then signed in to update my profile for the points and never had a problem. Like when I had the beta kinect dashboard I played 4-5 games offline and got achievement's, I thought that they still got time stamped even offline (at least if you played the game) I think if you edited your gamer profile and added the achievement's that way they because it probably wont have the time or date (I have never done it so not sure).

Microsoft can't possibly ban for this, when you think about it it could of been as easy as you borrowed a friends console.

The profile / achievements system was designed to be used offline, if Microsoft didn't want you unlocking achievements offline the ability to gain achievements when you are not signed in to live would be disabled. This is enforced on PC games that have live access, however not 360 games.

    Interesting read: xbox.com/en-US/Live/EngineeringBlog/071510-AchievementsUnlocked

    thx all

Thx again BigRod989,Dark Scyth & InsaneNutter for all good information.

I believe all you guy.. It just an interesting topic :)

Now for you who are using XBLA unlocked with your Jtag... how do you unlock your XBLA ?
I usually use XM360 but I'm wonder if there's a difference between Yaris mode, XM360 or just Dashlaunch with ConPATCH parameter.

In term security is there a difference, that could affect the profil (ex: xbla games that has no license, no console id attached to it etc..) so microsoft could see that the last time you played was on a "blank ID console". I'm saying that because if i remember, when you do achievement, the console save in your profile from which console ID you've play and a few other info ? I'm I right ? you probably know better than me for that part.

I'm probably going too far but like I said it's a fun subject to talk :) but this would be my last question :P

This thread really helped me out alot, big thanks to InsaneNutter.
But I still have a few questions, im considering using my live profile on my Jtag.
If I load the Xbox to the NXE dash and my LIVE profile auto signs in, thats all good, and I install a game using NXE and then run NXE2GOD while still signed in will this mod my profile?

Also are there any issues when thying to load DLC with a Live profile? Because asfar as I know DLC is profile locked so would I just sign out of my live profile run XM360 and simply unlock everything? (avatar clother, DLC, XBLA games etc)

Lastly if I managed to unlock avatar clother and used them on my live profile, would that mod my profile? And what would happen when I transfer my profile back to a Live console would the avatar clothes/DLC be recognised on a nonJtag?

    Thanks alot.

    Yes thats fine

Yes your running a homebrew app when signed in so it will add data to your profile, you can not use any sort of homebrew app with your live profile signed in.

Sign out when using any homebrew or sign an offline profile in.

They would not show up on your retail console, the content is modified so you have broke the digital signature so it will be useless. It would probably also look suspicious to Microsoft that your avatar is wearing items it doesn't own. People have been profile banned for modding there avatar so its not something I would recommend messing with on your live profile anyway.
