I am looking for the update that allows you to play old xbox games on your xbox360. The young lad got GTA san andreas. I am able to DL system updates but cannot find any for game updates. Just to add I am doing this manually through a usb stick and not through xboxlive. Thanks.
If Your Signed Into Xbox Live Then An Update Screen Will Apear "An Update Is Avalible For This Game If You Decline ou Will Be Signed Out Of Xbox Live" Select "Yes" Then It Will Download You Cant Play On Xbox Live With Origional Xbox Games Anymore! Hope This Helped
Hi Ryan As mentioned I dont have XBL and am told it is possible to get this game update via a manuall install link but am unable to find a working link.
If you are on xbox live. You have the newest Backwards compatibility update. Microsoft stopped updating it before 8955. If you're on xbox live right now, you'll have 12611. Every Xbox360 dashboard update has the xbox1 compatibility update built in. GTA San Andreas is on the backwards compatibility list. But if your game is a different region from your console, it wont play. I'm also not sure if the GTA double pack disk works or not. Another issue that might be causing the game not to play is the hard drive itself. If you built the hard drive with HDDhacker but didn't include copying partition 2 files. You need to add partition 2. If it's a retail xbox360 hard drive, it should already have partition2 included. If you're worried about Title updates for the games. I'm pretty sure they were taken down with the original servers xbox1 live service. They downloaded when you connected to xbox live for xbox1, but now you simply can't connect to live with an xbox1 game anymore. None of the GTA games had any live functions though, so none of them could have title updates.
The Xbox emulator for 360 that you're looking for is here https://digiex.net/downloads/downlo...360-partition-2-download-xbox-1-emulator.html The only problem is you're using a USB stick. From what I know USB sticks don't support partition 2 which means you can't put the emulator on a USB stick. You would either have to purchase a 360 hard drive or hack one yourself.
Thanks lads for taking the time and effort to reply but I got a link to the 2007 update which xbox.com had removed from the site and put it onto a cd and he presto it did the trick.
