ok after watching both microsoft and sonys E3 they both have about 1 or 2 good games the only real innivator that i saw was Ubisoft so i actually think new hardware will be showcased at E3 2013 then released 2014 if not console gaming will die for both companies as developers have said there hitting the limits with the current generation of hardware especially crytek.

so what do you guys think do you agree there stuck for ideas on the current gen of hardware

I don't think it's that they are stumped, I think it has just become harder to put ideas out there for us gamers and consumers that we think are "innovative". I was very impressed with Microsoft's Xbox Smart Glass technology that they will be rolling out towards the end of the year. Didn't get a chance to catch Sony's conference yet, but with the current struggles facing that company, it doesn't surprise me that they may be having trouble with new ideas. I own both consoles but still think when it comes to innovation and new ideas, Microsoft always seems to have an edge over Sony.

I wouldn't be surprised to see new hardware at next year's E3, but I also know that Microsoft is earning tons and tons of money off of the Xbox 360 right now and can continue to do so by coming out with innovations such as Smart Glass. I think if they can do things like that over the next year or so and really set the Xbox 360 apart even more from Sony and the PS3, we could see the Xbox living on into 2015 possibly. Sony has already said that they wanted a 10-year life cycle from the PS3, putting their new console out around 2016 I want to say. Even if Microsoft followed that or released their console a year early, it would be 2015 or as you stated seanpr92, 2014. I think the future is still bright with this generation, with some great games and new technology heading towards the Xbox. Looking forward to what the next year holds, but I want to hang onto my 360 for as long as possible.

This isn't even news, it's just a topic to discuss.
