It’s that time of year again; Microsoft has opened up registration for those would like to get an early look at the upcoming Fall 2012 Xbox 360 dashboard update!
Among the new features that will be coming with this next dashboard update will be:

• Internet Explorer for Xbox 360
• Personalized dashboard recommendations
• Enhanced category search and discovery features

From the brief glimpse we saw of this new dashboard at E3 2012, it also looks like we’ll be getting other updates such as a “Favorites” option on the home tab, and a re-positioning of the “Games” tab to a far more logical place.

If you want to get into the Fall 2012 dashboard beta, I’d suggest you sign-up soon—Microsoft says slots will be limited. For now, all you’ll need to do is click the link below, sign in with your Microsoft Live account, answer a few questions, enter in your Xbox Live name, and you’ll be signed up. When exactly the beta test will be kicking off should be announced soon.

I don't doubt it. Give it about 2-3 day's and you'll see the app flying all over the internet.

I've registered to be part of the Beta Update and it says it'll take 1-2 days, anyone else joined the Beta Update already? Is it cool?

 

I'm already in the update. I honestly like it a bit more than the older dashboard, it has an upcoming games tab along with an already in stores tab (of course it shows old stuff like L4D2 but still kinda nice. They did mess up one thing though. If you search for new demos, all of the Indie Games will pop up under that too. Hopefully they'll fix that soon.

 

I'm in the update and every tab looks bigger. I have noticed that you can sign into xbox live without an account. There are now xbox music and xbox video apps integrated into the dashboard that replace the zune video and music apps. For playing music,video from the hard drive,usb drive,disc or pc the name changed to system music player & system video player.

Say, have they fixed the video colours issue on this Beta Update? =D

 

I barely watch any video on the xbox anymore. I have no idea if its fixed or not.

The dashboard looks great! The only thing I dislike is the fat letters. They should make them a little slimmer.

Edit: Oh, and seriously Microsoft? IE only for Gold members? WTF man!!! I got this free on my laptop AND phone!!! Shame on you!!

Second Edit: I also noticed that the sphere is a little lower. Really convinient when making themes.
