After making the LEGO Star Wars games it was obvious LucasArts wasn't going to stop there. So why not use their other big production for a new game? This is what they did and so they made LEGO Indiana Jones. Replaying the Movies Just like in the LEGO Star Wars games you replay the events from the movies. There are three chapters: Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade. Each of these chapters has six levels to play through. They represent a certain event in the movie. All of the important events are in the game, like the tomb where Indy finds the Ark in the first movie, the bridge over the river from the second movie and also choosing the right Holy Grail at the end of the third movie. If you have seen the movies you will be sure to recognize a lot of things. The Gameplay Each level plays the same. You play as one of the characters in the Indiana Jones universe and have to get to the end of the level. In the LEGO Star Wars games there were some vehicle levels from time to time. You won't find these in LEGO Indiana Jones. There are vehicles in the game like a car or a raft, but only in a few levels. Some characters can do things other characters can't do. Female characters can jump higher than male and small characters can crawl through vents. This time there are also items that you will have to pick up to progress through the level, like a shovel or a wrench. Some characters come automatically equiped with these items but sometimes you have to look for them. The same thing goes for certain hats. By wearing them you can fool guards to open gates or doors for you. You start of playing the game through Story Mode. After finishing that you open up Free Mode in which you can pick your own characters with whom you want to play the levels. There are a lot of things to unlock so after finishing Story Mode you still have lots to do. So How About the Bad Things? Since the Indiana Jones movies are mainly focused on Indiana Jones himself, you will play as Indy in every level. In LEGO Star Wars you would play Luke Skywalker in one level and Han Solo in the next. In this game you are often stuck playing the same characters through story mode. Also since there aren't a lot of well known characters in the movies (appart from maybe his father in the last movie), playing the other characters isn't as great as it was in Star Wars, which has more well known characters. The game also is harder than the LEGO Star Wars games. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but since there is still no way to go Game Over it does get a little annoying to keep dying without it actually mattering much. Should I Give it a Go? LEGO Indiana Jones is a really enjoyable game. If you enjoyed the LEGO Star Wars games you will also enjoy this. There is a lot to do and a lot to unlock, even after finishing the game. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed! 8/10
Its a very fun game, very easy to just pick up and play! It has its sometimes-difficult puzzles, nothing frustrating though. Great for getting lots of achievements on XBox Live, Quite short winded but will still take some time to 100%.
Great game! I personally would choose lego star wars over lego indiana jones. Though this game is definitely good. Sweet review Assassin
