I have followed this and it works great. The question I have is I have a Jtag with the old xell and I wanted to know how to update to xell reloaded from this update. Yes I am a noob to all of this my Jtag knowledge is about two days of reading. I did my Jtag myself two days ago. Any help would be appreciated.

To be honest i couldn't say, as you have an RGH2 use this app here to build your update: https://digiex.net/downloads/downlo...-build-15574-dashboard-jtag-rgh-consoles.html

This tutorial uses applications that pre date the RGH2 so i cant honestly say if it will work or not as i only have a Jtag.

I dont see any reason why the nand builder i linked to above will not work however.

Update to 15774 with XeBuild: https://digiex.net/downloads/downlo...-build-15574-dashboard-jtag-rgh-consoles.html and select Xell Reloaded from in there.

xeBuild GUI is the easier way to update now, i will be doing a new tutorial based on that once the fall 2012 dash update is released.

I am getting this error message when updating

    **** could not read smc_config.bin (-1) ****

******* ERROR: critical bootloader files are missing, cannot proceed!

***** FATAL BUILD ERROR: -1 unable to complete NAND image

I might be missing something but I have got multiple copies of my nand from my console and they all seem to fail.

If you power the console on with the DVD tray do you get Xell? (might need to use the component cables depending on your version of Xell).

However if I'm just wasting your time I can drive my xbox to a service and they will fix it (hope they could).

Unfortunately there is nothing much you can do without opening the Xbox up and soldering a USB nand flasher to the console to re flash the nand. The best thing to do would be to take it to the person who modified the console.

Can this same method be used to update to 16197 ? I am currently on 12611. I have built a 14699 image here but i was wondering if i can jump straight to 16197 with the new xebuild 1.05?

Yes you can, i did exactly the process here to update to 16197 and it worked perfectly.

I do plan to update the tutorial, i've just not had much free time to do so lately!

Probably means your nanddump is not in the my data folder, or if it is that it's named incorrectly.

Some screenshots of your my data folder / xebuild error messages would be of help.
