The website is now inaccessible in UK because it's been blocked, however, if a proxy/VPN is used then it's just as good as always.

This is rather annoying and it isn't the first nor the last but there's ways to access it.

That was hard to unblock, first result on Google for "EZTV proxy" - EZTV - TV Torrents Online

I'm not impressed websites are been blocked, this is the first step to the great firewall of Britain and internet censorship.

Thanks for that link, I forgot of the simplistic keywords which can be useful.

Still I don't quite get why UK is trying to block websites here and there when there's always ways of bypassing them, and anyone can do it because it's a really easy task. Because they're concerned with piracy? Oh yeah like blocking websites would solve the problem.

I'm also aware that people by the end of the year who sign up for new internet deals will have to let their ISP know that they want to access porn.. This is just pathetic.

I find it hard to believe the government is that bothered with piracy and porn, its just an excuse to justify a content filtering system on every internet connection in the UK. I can see it been extended to other types of websites, such as VPN providers as they might be used to enable access to porn.

However we have seen how ineffective the country has been at blocking the Piratebay... which is one website, not sure how they expect to block every porn website on the internet...

If the PornBlock really is to protect children, would it be better not to simply educate young people on the dangers of the internet? Or enable parental controls on Windows?

For example what's to stop two under-age people getting nude on Skype, one of them records / screenshots it and shares it around? The person who has images of them been shared around is going to harmed a lot more then he/she is ever going to be looking at porn...

I dont see how its going to protect kids personally... spend time tackling unemployment, teen pregnancies and many other far important issues...

    lol,

What is concerning though is its more than just porn already, apparently "web forums" will also be blocked by default. Which means many websites such as Digiex will be blocked by default... along with:

    ☑ pornography
    ☑ violent material
☑ extremist and terrorist related content
☑ anorexia and eating disorder websites
    ☑ suicide related websites
    ☑ alcohol
    ☑ smoking
    ☑ web forums
    ☑ esoteric material
    ☑ web blocking circumvention tools

if theres one thing ive learned in the 21 years of my life is the goverment care about 2 things money and control good job we have groups like annonymous to uncover there dirty little secrets and on the opt out thing what happens then are you put onto a register the whole porn block for child has flaws anyway only takes a potential child sex offender to opt out but failing that it will be imposed on all IP addresses

If they were going to try and arrest paedophiles by blocking porn then I'd be happy and supportive, but this is just unreasonable because they're doing to everyone. I don't really go to porn websites, maybe once a month or not even but this is removing the liberty of using the internet.

Thankfully there's bypass methods so they can try but people will always find ways to access it.
