DADADADA stands for DarkAlex. This means your PSP is running custom firmware and has had it's updater disabled. You will need to rerun the tool originally used on the PSP to disable updates.

Nope you can't make it permanent, so just use the fast recover app if you ever totally power the PSP off by mistake.

So you have updated to the required firmware, have you then installed the custom firmware?

Recently I updated to OFW 6.61 and downloaded the CFW 6.61. PRO-C2. In CFW- Ps1 games play normally, PSP games fade to black and I have to reset the PSP by taking out the battery.
Same thing happened when I was using 6.60 CFW. I am using a PSP 2004.

What ISO mode are you using? you could also be using bad rips of games.

UMD ISO MODE: Inferno.. The games themselves are ok, because i used to play them on when I had GEN-D3 (if that was It's correct name).

Just to test, if you rip one of the games you own does that play? It's hard to know what to suggest for this but that would be a good starting point to rule things out.

    Hi guys,

I have recently decided to use my PSP 1000 after about 6 years. I have CFW installed on there from back in 2008/09 I think.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if I can still go ahead with this CFW guide?

Do I have to format the memory stick or just copy and paste over files in the appropriate folders mentioned?

System software currently says: 5.50 GEN-B (Full).

    Please let me know

You do not need to format the memory stick, just copy the files, over and follow the tutorial.

    Hi All,

After seeing this post, I decided to fire up my fat 1003 psp and updated to first official 6.60 firmware and then followed the guide to get it to 6.60 pro. Worked perfectly except that when I loaded up Mortal Kombat Trilogy. I got in no problem, went through the in game menus and started a match and then the psp switched off. Thought may be it was a one-off until it just kept on doing it whenever I tried starting a fight. I came back to this guide and then thought I should upgrade it to 6.61 pro. I did not update it to 6.61 (official, which may have caused this problem?) CFW 6.61 pro allowed me to update and the last message i saw on screen was "Now reboot to 6.61 pro cb-2". So I rebooted and now the psp does not start at all. Did I brick it? :(:(

Press and hold the power button in for 10-15 seconds, that should fully power the PSP off. Then try powering it on and see if it works. It's extremely rear to brick a PSP installing CFW so i'd be surprised if you had.

You only need to do it once, after that either flash the firmware permanently (if possible on your PSP) or use the fast recovery app.
