I found out something interesting regarding this rom. In most cases, the European NDS distribution roms contain English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish wondercards that distribute to games of their respective language. However, this particular rom is missing the German wondercard. There is an ultra rare variant of this cartridge, with serial code Y9OP(instead of Y9OZ), which contains only the German wondercard.

    More details/images here.

I'd definitely purchase a Y9OP cart if I saw one for sale, but I assume they're almost as expensive as the GBA carts. I'm not sure if they're common enough to find someone to dump the rom for us.

I guess maybe they ran out of space in their distro somehow lmao and had to make another distro for missing languages.
I was aware that that distro may not contain every European language because Bulbapedia mentioned something about that, but I never really looked into it. That description is also what was copy/pasted into this thread's OP.

It's odd though, because I went and checked every other European rom, and they all contain the five language wondercards, except this one. I'm not sure why it'd be any different in regards to space for this one.

Bulbapedia mentions something about Spanish and German, but this rom already has the Spanish wondercard. It's only missing German.

Eh well other distros have only one Wondercard to distribute per language, or two per language in the case of Karrablast/Shelmet. Maybe three Wondercards per language was pushing the limit.
I mean, surely they could have reprogrammed it to allow for even more Wondercards, but I guess it was probably less work for them to include 4 languages in one cart and making a second cart for the 5th language instead of redoing the distro code to allow for more.

Yeah, I totally forgot that this one had three wondercards per language. That would actually be a plausible reason then.

  7. So this distribution rom will ''only'' work with English, French, Italian, and Spanish games and not with German games?

Correct, but one of my sources tracked down the Y9OP German cart, so we'll have that rom very soon (Y)(H)

I just obtained the Y9OP rom from YoshiMoshi. I added it to the compilation zip in my signature, and sent the rom off to InsaneNutter to upload in the thread.

So here's the thing between Y9OP and Y9OZ. I examined the Y9OP rom when I got it, and while it contains the German wondercards as expected, it also has the English, French, and Italian wondercards. So basically what they did is replace the Spanish wondercards in Y9OZ with the German wondercards for Y9OP. That would explain why Bulbapedia says that both German and Spanish were distributed at specific locations.

    In summary:

Y9OZ - English, French, Italian, Spanish
Y9OP - English, French, Italian, German

Thanks again to YoshiMoshi. I was amazed that he found one to buy so quickly after we found out Y9OP existed.

No problem. Y90P is extremely rare. I only know the cart I now have that has leaked. I've never seen photos of another one. I have cart 485. Please post here if you see another.

When I was looking for one before you found yours, I was told by a contact that they had one at one point, but sold it a while back without realizing it was that rare or worth that much. Perhaps it's the same cart that's been going around, but that could mean there are at least two out there.

Lol, I'm already one step ahead of you. I messaged him right after I posted that, but he still hasn't responded. He takes a while sometimes, so give him a few days and I'll let you know.

New member here, just wanted to thank you guys for providing all those ROMs of the dumped Cartridges. For the sake of collecting Information about the Y90P Variants out there, I got my Hands on NO. 482.
