This is the Spring 2013 Meloetta Distribution, used to distribute the Spring 2013 Meloetta. This Meloetta was distributed in many places around the world. At all locations it could be obtained in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish language games.

    Region: EUR
    Serial: NTR-Y9HE-EUR
Credit: Dumped by King Impoleon using Decrypt9

Note: Although this was dumped from a European cartridge, the European and American roms are identical. It seems just the cartridge label is different.

Date: The date on the Nintendo DS used to distribute this rom must be between March 22 to April 19, 2013

Distributes to: This distribution can be obtained by the following Pokemon games: Black, White, Black 2 and White 2

    About the Spring 2013 Meloetta:

    How to use:

You will need one DS with a flashcard to distribute this event, simply set the date on the DS been used to distribute the event to the date mentioned above. You will then need another DS or 3DS playing the Pokemon game you wish to receive the event Pokemon on.

On the DS receiving the Pokemon you can receive the event by selecting Mystery Gift, then Receive Gift on the main menu.

-USA/-EUR are the only differences with the Keldeo and Meloetta serial codes, just to distinguish region. But yes, the main part of the serial codes are identical, seemingly because they are the exact same roms. I had compared the roms with HxD and there were no differences. Keldeo and Meloetta are the only cases of this, even though some others have no differences other than TID and/or OT.

Eh, that's just part of the sticker really. The USA/EUR/JPN part is never actually part of the internal serial code :P

I find it a bit odd though they specifically went with serial code ending in E for the Meloetta cart, 'cause that's for North American cartridges. I'd guess they just derped and accidentally marked it as such, 'cause them having included every language in it shows that they intended on it being the same. At least Keldeo was actually marked as region-free (not that it really matters all that much, though.)
Just makes it so inconsistent and that bothers me, lol.

I never actually noticed that. Most US codes end with E, and most EUR codes end with P. Interesting. So does Z mean no region? Both Keldeo are marked with Z, but there are other inconsistencies besides Meloetta. US Zoroark ends in Z, but EUR properly ends in P. EUR Shiny Sinnoh Trio ends in Z, but US properly ends in E. These two don't even share the same roms with both regions, so I don't understand why it'd have Z. Then there's Meloetta as you said, which they kept it marked as a US rom.

Thing is, these roms aren't even actually restricted by region. English games will receive English events regardless of region. Regardless, the serial codes are interesting.

US Zoroark distro was used for both North America and Australia. Shiny Trio one was used for Canada and some South America countries along with Europe (and Australia.)

Z is something they can use to mark no region but I'm pretty sure they can use other letters, like the English versions of B/W and B2/W2 end in O, presumably so that they could work on both US and EU DSi's.

And yeah, not really restricted by region, and I don't think they're really DSi-enhanced so it's not like any kind of region-locking would apply to them anyway (they likely used DS Lites for the distributions anyway, I'd think.)
Or maybe they decided that some of the newer distros were made DSi-enhanced, I wouldn't really be able to test that, but Nintendo usually likes to properly mark regions anyway even though it never mattered until the DSi lol.

I'm assuming Australia never had any unique AUS carts since we haven't ever had any leak, or were they like Japan and just good at always getting them back to Nintendo? I guess if they used US and EUR carts, they probably didn't have any of their own, but I don't know anything about Australian events.

It's possible there was just never really a leak for those. They had their own carts for certain events, for example JBHF Manaphy, their own ALAMOS Darkrai, and the Michina Arceus.

I was trying to use this rom to distribute meloetta, but I got "Distribution not available", even though I changed the date to 5 April 2013. Tried also 23 March 2013. Actually same problem as in Pokemon Victini Liberty Ticket Distribution NDS Rom Download :(
