If you enter the recovery menu (switch the PSP fully off, then power the PSP on holding down R) I believe an option exists to change the PSP's region for UMD movies.

You might also be able to do this pressing select on the PSP's XBM menu then going though the options which appear on screen.

I don't have my PSP to hand so can't check, however the option should be there.

I tried, every region didn't work even "Debug Type I" or "Debug Type II" , It's still showing the same message "This disc cannot be started, the region code is not correct"

I'm honestly not too sure then, the only UMD i own is the Spider Man one Sony gave away for free back when the PSP was pretty new. So i can't really do any testing with this.

You should be fine if you followed this tutorial from what you said.

thank you for this guide Insane. I used to hack these back in 2006, but haven't messed with mine since. I have been able to get ISO's to work with the firmware, but am having trouble with emulators. I downloaded your pack from earlier in this thread and have been trying to use those. I forget where to put the EBOOT.pbp files. I try to put the folders into PSP>GAME but they show corrupted in the menu. I've tried several different combinations and don't remember which it is. My old memory card with this info on it was destroyed, so I can't fall back on that. Thanks for your help.

Never mind, I figured it out. I forgot that the files in GAME also need to be in all caps and that the EBOOT file has to be in the front of the folder. I got them all set up now. Thanks again.

Hi guys, I did eveything. It worked, but I have a problem, I cannot save games. It says that there isn't any memory cards or that the savedatas are damaged. Do you have any solutions?

Ah, but so mayhaps an excuse, of my dummied self to ask, 'tis a-thicc of me to say,
    - but where's in-which folder, do I go and put/ paste the seplugin stuff?

I've had no issues perma-installin' my 61. pro onto my 'phat' PSP 1000, buuut, (…) I can't seem to figure-out how to bring-up/out the whole VHS-styled menus and sosuch, from within my CFW, ack. D: I kinda ofcourse, needs access to its burner-setting, speed, iso-stuffs and so to suchs' hohum, heh,

so I figured that mayhaps its missin' those prompts, due-to me skippin' the pasting of that 'ere seplugin folder, aye? You've done a grand, great job with all 'ems pictures and persay pics for refs, and I'd love for mine to look the same, as I'm kinda lost and stuck-in limbo atm, (…) with an flashed PSP, and no-way of figuring-out how to actually access its CFW menues, haha oops!

Any help to my issues would be verily and well kindly, very appreciated,
and I'd be more then willing to provide further details if-necessary, etc. - Thanks for bein' sucha top-tier boss'man, 'nutter; you're great. <3 :)

You should create a folder called seplugins on the root of the memory stick and copy the plugins in to that folder

Press select on the XBM to open the VHS menu.

It's possible you might need to enable the VHS menu recovery mode (its been a long time since i used my PSP so i'm typing this from memory)
To enter recovery mode when the PSP is fully off (not sleeping) hold "R" and power the PSP on.

Oh wowie and wowza wahoo, it worked like a/n fookin' fracker charm! 'tis running real fine and so smooth, soft now; - tysm. ^.=.~

Justa quickie QaA added at tho', but, I've been usin' GBAtemps' tutorial here, (https://gbatemp.net/threads/final-fantasy-type-0-english-translation-ultima-guide.367205/), to work-around and with my FF Type-0 disks, since I actually do own the imported package and UMDs, yush, […] but, so where-in here my Pro-Mod, can I mayhaps find the UMD_drive burner, to ISO, hmm?
    - I know the article's a wee-bit ol' and dusty persay, so may it be of so, that our dear-ly beloved Pro' has quite changed its settings..?
    - I've gone through my R\(Recovery) and too in-depth Pro-Mod settings, buuut, this aforementioned drive burner, has alas yet elluded me... ^^;;

Thanks so truly and aton, sharky duder; you've been an help most godsent..! <3

I have a question. For clarity, as I understand it, the PSP expects Memory Stick Pro Duo cards but, I believe the maximum size of that card is 16 GB. Is it possible to drop in say a 1TB or 2TB microSDHC card using an adapter?

I found this product https://www.amazon.com/MicroSD-MicroSDHC-Adapter-Converts-Cards/dp/B001RPEJA4/ from this post https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/918340-playstation-portable/70312822#2 but, is there a ceiling? I mean every OS has a ceiling but, what's the ceiling for the CFW itemized here on this thread?

I believe you can go to a max of 64gb without issues, with higher capacity cards the PSP has issues indexing / displaying games that go beyond the first 64gb of space on the card.

Infinity never used to support all PSP models, however Infinity 2.0 seems to. This could be a good option for later PSP models such as the 88 v3, PSP 2000, PSP 3000, PSP Go and E1000 where a permanent CFW was never possible above 6.20. Keep in mind there is currently no recovery software included with Infinity, so possible pros and cons depending what you are doing with your PSP.

The main gain is later PSP models don't have to use the fast recovery app when fully powered off, so if that's annoying you then Infinity could be a nice upgrade.

I have no plans to create another PSP tutorial in addition to this one. I think this tutorial succeeds in the goal of safely allowing anyone to safely get started with PSP Homebrew / CFW with very little risk to their PSP.

If anyone does upgrade to it would however be nice to see them document the process and post a tutorial for others who might be interested.

Aha okay, i dont think documenting it is necessary since there's a README and instructions so it wouldn't be hard.

Trying to get ISO games working on my PSP 3004

    Hello!

    So I'm currently on firmware 6.61 and I've installed PSP 6.61 PRo-C

I downloaded Gow - Ghost of Sparta

I made sure it was in ISO format and that it was in the ISO folder. I've even tried restarting, taking out and putting back the memory card, and did run fast recovery because that's what you have to do when you restart your PSP 300 series. But still, it doesn't seem to find or load the ISO file. I checked and yes it said I'm on 6.61 Pro-C.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong cause I followed all the steps correctly. Could it be that I'm running 6.61 and not 6.60 ( is 6.60 more compatible?)? Should I try downloading from another site?

All help would be greatly appreciated!

I will have a go at that later possibly but I figured out what I was doing wrong thanks to the other thread you referred me to.
Basically I had put the ISO folder in the PSP folder, but I understand that the ISO folder needs to be a completely separate folder.
But thanks anyway! Its good to see the PSP community is still alive!

Wondering if someone has advice. Found my old psp 1001 and it has 3.02 oe-b on it. For the life of me I can't get it to downgrade or upgrade. Any suggestion to just get an outright factory reset and remove cfw?

Its so out of date that would probably be the best, especially if you don't know whats been done to the PSP all those years ago.
