If it's an Xbox 360: You don't need a program to convert it, copy the videos onto a memory stick and they will almost certainly work. My 360 plays virtually every legitimate(?) film I've got perfectly. The 360 supports WMVs and AVI's with MPEG2,4, H264, DivX and XVid, along with some other formats.

But my Avi's are the problem, it keeps saying to me, i need to get some update on x box live, everything else is perfectly fine, Dvd's and WMV's work perfect, so its just my AVI's that dont play, i think nutter told me about getting that update, as its linked with your x box, you cant download it somewhere, only from live.....

Yes that’s right, if you’re on Xbox Live it will download the update to play Divx / Xvid, its impossible to get that update from anywhere else.

I believe Tvserity should allow your pc to convert video as it streams to a format your Xbox 360 can play, this is what people used before the 360 got the Divx update.

So why can't you download the update?

You need to update it from x box live, and it specific updates tie into your console, it will not work on other console's, so even if you download the update and manage to take it of your console somehow, it will not work on any other console.

Got a friend you could take your 360 round to just to get on live and download the updates you need?

If you signed in to live just play a Divx movie and it will ask you to download an optional media update, say yes and your good to go.

You would need to take your console and hard drive as the media update needs to be tied to your consoles ID to work offline.

But your console should'nt have a problem playing WMV AND DVD formats, that should be standard on the console??
