    Hello everyone,

I'm MissingNo., and although I've been browsing Digiex as a guest for quite some time now, I finally decided it was time to register.

I've been playing the first two generations of Pokémon on original hardware for decades, always coming back to them every now and then. Most of my time is spent with Pokémon Stadium 1 & 2, which, in my opinion, are still some of the greatest ways to experience Generation 1 and 2.

Over the years, I've come across many of the save files that members of this community have preserved and shared (such as Deoxyz's PCNY collection) and I genuinely want to say that they've enriched my life more than you might imagine. Nothing makes me happier than seeing old Pokémon save files, and the Pokémon stored on them, still "alive" after all these years. Every preserved cartridge, every archived save, and every event Pokémon tells a story, and I think that's something truly special.

Because of that, I've also made it a habit to back up and dump my own save files whenever possible. Knowing how easily these old battery-backed saves can disappear over time, I feel it's important to preserve them... not only for myself, but also as a small contribution to the history of these games.

I honestly don't know yet what, or how much, I'll be able to contribute to this community, but I wanted to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to InsaneNutter. Your threads and comments are pure gold. The amount of work you've put into preserving Generation 1 and 2 history is incredible, and it's wonderful to see that the passion for these games is still so strong after all these years.

Thank you to everyone here for helping preserve this little piece of Pokémon history. It's a pleasure to finally be part of the community.

    Warm regards,
    MissingNo.

Welcome to Digiex, what a fantastic introduction post.

Everything available here and elsewhere today really has been a big community effort. Many people have collectively shared knowledge and contributed things in different areas over the years, the end result been a lot of Pokemon history is easily accessible today for current and future Pokemon trainers.

Always backing up your saves really is a great lesson to learn, especially before you actually need the backups. I'm still glad the younger me backed up my Pokemon Gold save from the year 2000, the older me restored that save to the 3DS and went back and finished the dream of a living Pokedex in that save approx. 20 years later. It was fun to see OT's from friends in School who traded me Pokemon all them years ago.

Its always great to see people discovering / enjoying all the Pokemon content the community has preserved. I hope to see you around on Digiex.
