Introduction ( + thank you for preserving Pokémon history )

Hello everyone,

I'm MissingNo., and although I've been browsing Digiex as a guest for quite some time now, I finally decided it was time to register.

I've been playing the first two generations of Pokémon on original hardware for decades, always coming back to them every now and then. Most of my time is spent with Pokémon Stadium 1 & 2, which, in my opinion, are still some of the greatest ways to experience Generation 1 and 2.

Over the years, I've come across many of the save files that members of this community have preserved and shared (such as Deoxyz's PCNY collection) and I genuinely want to say that they've enriched my life more than you might imagine. Nothing makes me happier than seeing old Pokémon save files, and the Pokémon stored on them, still "alive" after all these years. Every preserved cartridge, every archived save, and every event Pokémon tells a story, and I think that's something truly special.

Because of that, I've also made it a habit to back up and dump my own save files whenever possible. Knowing how easily these old battery-backed saves can disappear over time, I feel it's important to preserve them... not only for myself, but also as a small contribution to the history of these games.

I honestly don't know yet what, or how much, I'll be able to contribute to this community, but I wanted to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to InsaneNutter. Your threads and comments are pure gold. The amount of work you've put into preserving Generation 1 and 2 history is incredible, and it's wonderful to see that the passion for these games is still so strong after all these years.

Thank you to everyone here for helping preserve this little piece of Pokémon history. It's a pleasure to finally be part of the community.

Top o the mornin' to you all. I just registered. I found this site through projectpokemon and Google. Looked around and saw some great forum posts and downloads so thought I would "Stick around" lol. I'm a little older, 37, and have been playing pokemon since 1998 when I first started pokemon red on my og gameboy with lovely green screen back in the 5th grade. Loved pokemon ever since. I enjoy alot of retro gaming, modding, emulation, electronics, 3dprinting, and coding when im not working (also when I am working lol). Had played pokemon games in about 5 years until about 6 months ago I bought the switch 2 and all the switch pokemon games since I hadnt played them yet. This also inspired me to break back out the 3ds and update all the firmware mods and see all what is available online now since I was out of the loop for a good minute doing adult life. I also love pokemon tcg although I just recently got back into it as well. My home flooded back in 2002 after 4 years deep in the tcg game and I lost everything, all my cards, which I had spent the prior 4 summers working to make money to buy. Also lost a great deal of other big things that were important to me. Then that made me depressed and I never wanted to look at tcg cards again until about 2.5 years ago now. Fun fact in these last 2.5 years i still havent ever even had an opportunity to buy Pkmn TCG product at any store for MSRP. So i literally have not been able to purchase Pokemon TCG products for MSRP since almost 9/11 lmao. Thats wild.

Anyways thanks for the content I've gathered from here look forward to staying around. I have some questions regarding trading pokemon from modded 3DS all the way to Pokemon Sword too so Ill need help with that so I'll probably make a post soon in the appropriate thread.
