Maybe a look on the Marketplace might be best eventually.

Not everything is compatible with the Xbox, if you look at the system requirements it will say if the app is however:

Does it have a searching feature for apps on the dashboard?

Yes you can search the Microsoft store on the Xbox One.

What about controllers? I see a lot of variations. Are they all compatible with every console?

Xbox One and Xbox Series S / X controllers are backward and forward compatible, the newer controllers that support Bluetooth work on a PC, Tablet and Phone also.

I've seen a controller that looks like it has an extra button in the middle. Like a bracket on its side. Is that something that it uniquely for Series X features?

Its just to more easily share content like screenshots, not actually sure if it works on the Xbox One or not as I don't have a Series X / S.

On the Xbox One you can double tap the Xbox button in the middle, you then get the option to take a screenshot or record a video clip.

If you have the official battery pack sold by Microsoft then it will charge that. You can also use it as a wired controller if required.

You should be able to add one of the chat pads to the controller, they just clip in.

It looks like there's no space for a battery to go on it unlike the 360 where it's visible. Do some have this feature and some don't?

The battery goes inside the controller at the back, if you look at the images it has a slot that opens for it to go in.

Ah I see. Just like when you get a 360 wireless one you have the option of batteries or a charge pack. I was assuming that it included the lead because it had the battery already built in, but its a separate purchase.

Yup pretty much the same, I suspect the lead is included so it can easily be used as a wired controller on PC's, without having to buy the wireless dongle if the PC does not have Bluetooth.

Just thinking about DLC for backwards compatible 360 games. If I install a 360 game I have on disc can I copy the DLC over will it work? Also would the game still need the disc as usual?

    Thanks.
