credits and commendations in halo reach

hi i have halo reach and i've never played online and i realized that after trying to do some CR farming with the target locator on sword base i didn't get any credits by commendations so my question is do i have to be sing in to get the CR like that or is there a way to get them without having to waste my time playing the campaing on legendary?


PS: do i need to have xbox live gold to get the CR by the commendations or silver would be enough?

You can get CR offline from what i remember, however i think this is massively reduced when you go online.

Xbox Live silver will be fine to get the commendations, i think you should be able to do the daily challenges as long as they dont require you to play online.

Example: you could do the 200 kills in any game mode without live
