So I’ve being playing the demo for Dawn of War 2 on Steam recently and was wondering what people here at Digiex think of it?

I thought that the game play was alright at first and the addition of a levelling system for each squad was a nice touch but after a few missions it starts to become repetitive and feels limited. Also from what I’ve heard, there is no base construction in the game and it is all unit based.

There’s also the issue of needing Steam and Windows Live accounts to actually play the game (which acts as a sort of copy protection). That might not be a problem to some of us (me included), but do you think its right to make someone create all these additional accounts and such to play a game they’ve already paid for? IE you should be able to install the game and get on with playing it hassle free.

So what I’m really asking (to anyone who has played the full game) is the game as limited as it seems in the demo and to everyone: what do you think of having to use Steam/Windows Live to play it and is it a good substitute to the DRM used in games such as Spore?
