Yes thats normal, i believe you press "ok" on the menu at the side ans it will save your nand to the memory stick.

Xenon's can only be Jtagged, so if your console is an Xenon then you have a Jtag.

k i typed in xeBuild.exe -t jtag -c xenon -f 14699 -d mydata updflash.bin and it gave me an error which said (ERROR: invalid or unexpected characters in CPU key!) I got the key from the box as you explained in guild so i'm sure it's right. I went back in and checked to see if i copied it right in to the folder and it is. any idea whats up. thanks

So you have no space or anything before the start of the cpu key? it sounds like it doesn't like part of your CPU key, maybe check you have noy typed O instead of 0

Is your nanddump called nanddump.bin ? if you have hidden windows file extensions you might have renamed it to nanddump.bin.bin

    hi

need some help. I've updated from 13599 to 14699, have also applied the avatar update. all the avatars are working but i can't seem to select any of the avatar items (from the edit avatar option) that i had from the old 13599 dash. when i select an item and press A, it just throws me back to avatar character screen with the options for change style etc..

    thanx

    hi InsaneNutter

my jtag has profiles that are offline but with xuid numbers hex edited into it. just wanted to know if the tutorial u alluded to was still safe to to. just take my internal hdd onto a xbox live capable console and then connect to live?
will this not cripple my internal HDD.

    thanx

Nope you can not follow the tutorial as you dont have the profile that owns the avatar item to update it.

First off, thanks alot for the quality of this guide, it has been very useful. When I build my NAND here's what I get

******* ERROR: clean SMC found? you should use a hacked smc for JTAG images.

Is this alright or have I done some noob error or something? Thanks for the help!

Hey InsaneNutter - thanks for the guide - been using your guides to update my jtags with every new dash release with no probs...

But with this latest one, I get up to the part where I run xebuild and I get this message:

    **** could not read kv.bin (-1) ****

******* ERROR: critical bootloader files are missing, cannot proceed!

***** FATAL BUILD ERROR: -1 unable to complete NAND image

    ---------------------------------------------------------------
xeBuild Finished. Have a nice day.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------

    - The NAND said it dumped fine on my xbox, so I'm not sure what the problem is... any ideas? My nanddump.bin is named correctly.

Oh and for what it's worth I have a Jasper 256 with 12611 currently on it.

A friend of mine had the same reaction while building the NAND and I found out that he had a small error in his CPU Key, maybe you should double check that.

Hey Nutter can you help me out with this please, I'm worried as Johnny Knoxville's mom. I dont dare to follow the other steps even tho everything else seems to be right.
Like I said in my previous post, When I build my NAND following every step here's what I get:

******* ERROR: clean SMC found? you should use a hacked smc for JTAG images.

Thanks for your precious help again! I dont wanna end up doing a stupid error and ruining my JTAG :(
