I dont see anything wrong with http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/ personally. Great to see some free offers though
If it's an okay anti-virus that they're subscribing then it should be fine. Free solutions are generally enough though.
Kapersky Internet Security 2010 is one of the more popular brands, shame you need to have the email address of someone hosting a Windows 7 Party Edit: Panda allowed me to download the application and register, doesn't ask for a mailing address and the phone number field isn't mandatory. As I run a Gmail account they can't trace that to being overseas either. Nutter, I agree, MSE is free and integrates right into Windows, including the updates, which is nice, as long as I keep my PC up to date with MS Updates, MSE stays updated as well.
Yup I agree, I’ve stopped installing AVG Free on PC’s that I fix for family and friends now as they somehow never managed to keep it up to date. Security essentials generally does a better job, I’ve noticed certain friends haven’t managed to mess-up there windows install for a few months now. Nimrod and P.KID both had a Windows 7 party, maybe they can help with that.
