    Hi.

I have a strange problem with my Xbox 360.

Some games gets stuck and freezes at random points when I play them through my Xbox 360 WD 250Gb Hdd which I just converted 3 weeks ago.

Now I know that this is a Hdd issue cause they run fine when I play those games through the Dvd Disc without installing them on the 360 Hdd.

But the thing is that the first couple of games that I've installed run fine and the latter ones are freezing randomly.

Seems like my Xbox 360's Hdd is corrupt at a certain area, don't know... I've even re-installed those games, no luck.

Any idea what's going on and how to fix it?

    Thanks...

format it (you will lose data so backup first) in storage so it asks for the serial number of the console and try to see if that fixed it.

At rick550: I did that before I posted the issue. I didn't have useful data so I've formatted it through Xbox 360's format option but the same issue is occurring...

It could be the hard drive, undo the drive with hddhackr & the undo.bin file and do some tests using your pc

Use this tool under dos for some tests WD Support / Downloads / WD Scorpio & AV-25 / WD Scorpio Blue
extract this file to the usb and run dos and type this DLGDiagv519.exe to start the program with your wd drive connected
    full instructions
    Instructions

    1. Download the DLGDiagv519.zip.
    2. Extract the DLGDiagv519.exe file and copy to a DOS bootable diskette.
    3. Boot from this diskette. Make sure that your boot order in your Bios is set to boot from the floppy drive first.
    4. At DOS prompt type DLGDiagv519.exe to run the program.
    5. You will see the following options:
      • SELECT DRIVE - Always choose this option first, as it determines which drive you will be working on.
      • QUICK TEST - This option tests your drive quickly for any major physical problems. (Please note: Although this option is safe and does not alter the data on your hard drive, Western Digital recommends that you have a current backup of your data).
      • EXTENDED TEST - This option checks your drive thoroughly and it can repair any correctable errors. (Please note: Although this option is safe and does not alter the data on your hard drive, some data loss may occur, depending on the errors found and the errors corrected. Western Digital recommends that you have a current backup of your data).
      • WRITE ZEROS TO DRIVE - The Write Zeros option, wipes all data off your drive. This option used when your data is no longer usable or recoverable. If you no longer need any data from your drive and would like to start over, run this option to set your drive to an as new condition. NOTE: Please make sure that you have selected the correct drive to perform this function on as once ran, no data will be recoverable.
      • VIEW TEST RESULTS - You can see the results of the test you just performed
      • PRINT TEST RESULTS - Test results can be printed with this option. USB printers are not supported
      • LOG FILE OPEN/CLOSE - You can access the log file which is generated automatically
      • ENTER AND PRINT RMA INFORMATION - Information pertaining to each drive tested can be customized and printed with this option.
      • HELP - Brief descriptions of each option in addition to explanations of error codes are available in this option.
      • QUIT - Reboot your system once you have completed the selected tasks
    6. Select the task you wish to perform.

If I use a 500gb hdd now and later there is a firmware hack for 500gb, will I be able to update the firmware without losing data? Or do I need to transfer the data somewhere else first, before I perform an update/re-flash?

You would transfer first just to be safe, then undo the drive & reflash with the new file(if microsoft launches a 500gb hdd version)

Unable to get Xbox 1 Emulator to work

    Hi all,

I am having trouble getting my hacked hard drive to run xbox 1 games (big halo fan). Here is some relevant info:

    Hard Drive Being Hacked: WD2500BEVT
    Hddhackr version: 1.30
    Xplorer: Xplorer360 Beta 6 Xtreme build 2
Windows OS: XP Service Pack 3

    Steps Taken:
Initial: Connected 250 GB Hard drive via Sata, booted into dos prompt.
    1. Ran hddhackr at Dos prompt and Flashed Firmware onto hard drive.
    2. Created 0/2/3 partitions. (Done separately from 1 unlike in tutorial, tutorial uses v1.24 (does that matter?)) Did not receive a turn off PC message at this point, but hddhackr would not let me use the dos prompt afterwards either.
    3. Reset PC to complete firmware update.
    4. Confirmed that the hard drive works on the 360. :D
    5. Connected old 20GB 360 hard drive via Sata to back up partition 2.
    6. Turned off PC, connected newly flashed 250 GB hard drive via Sata.
    7. Used Xplorer 360 Beta 6 Xtreme build 2 to restore partition 2. Successful.
    8. Verify can play halo 1 disc. Returns "Unable to play, contact microsoft support...yada yada" message.
    9. Upset :(

I've been trying to figure this out for hours and I just read so many people saying its working that I know its possible so there is just something I'm doing wrong. Any help is appreciated!

Note I don't run Xplorer360 as administrator or put it more accurately I can't because my administrator has no password and when it requests a password, it won't accept blank. But it seems like it works, but looks can be deceiving.

    Thanks all!!!!1

    Did it.

I downloaded the xplorer360 you gave me. I had to reflash my hard drive because the last attempt I made screwed it up. (I think I used the 250 gb xplorer 360 to see what would happen).

In any case, I had to restore to my UNDO.BIN, reflash to HDDSS.BIN and then restart the computer to get into xplorer360. I ran it as administrator and restored the partition 2. I have not tested on the 360 yet but am going to.

I'm posting because I have a quick question. At this point what should xplorer360 see if I reconnect to the hard drive? When I do I don't see partition 2 anymore. I'm only able to see partition 0 and 3 on the side window. There are no files that show up in the main panel. Is this normal? Is this evidence that xplorer360 is working?

It didn't work. Am I supposed to update the hard drive once I connect it to the 360?

format in the xbox 360 then see if partition 2 shows in xplorer360 if not then run hddhackr and use the create partitions option

there are 2 versions you can use,the one i posted earlier for restoring partition 2 only & the 250gb version is for managing the partition 3

I reformatted in the 360, then recreated the partitions and then finally used the xplorer360 version YOU supplied me with and it still didn't work.

    I asked this question earlier:

But I noticed that after restoring partition 2, it disappeared from the list of partitions of the connected hard drive. Is this normal?

Any other ideas, I honestly don't know what to do other than start from scratch but my biggest issue is really understanding what I should be seeing.

after you restore partition 2 you use file>close drive

partition 2 should not disappear from the drive

SUCCESS!!! Finally it played halo whoo hoo. DIY in your face. It turns out the problem was in my xbox partition 2 back up. Apparently it was a bad backup. When I backed up another copy that one worked flawlessly. I'm relieved, this took far too long. Thanks rick550 you were great help!!!!! I would not have considered it was my partition 2 backup until you told me how xplorer360 should have behaved. Thanks!

DO I really need to download Xbox Explorer to get the HD to work on the Xbox 360 Slim? I don't want to run Xbox 1 emulator and just want to upgrade my 4GB to a 320GB.

Hey I'm having trouble with moving my original 360 hard drive data to my new hacked 360 250 gb hard drive. When I run the xplorer360 for 250 gb, I click Drive> Open > Hard drive or Memcard

Then I go to my partition 3, right click and select insert folder. Then I select my Content Folder on my PC and let it rip. Then the end result is no Content folder in my partition 3 and when I connect the hard drive to my 360, I find that none of my game saves and profiles are found but I the amount of available memory is 3 gbs less. 3 Gbs is exactly the size of my Contents folder.

I don't know what to do from here. Any ideas?
