If you loved 24 then you will also love Homeland, I watched the series 2 premier last night and didn't disappoint. The story is intense right from the off, and of course action packed too.

Homeland and Person of interest have to be my two favorite shows on TV at the moment, well worth watching if you do not already.

My only complaint is that it will only be a 12 episode series like series 1, i couldn't help but want more after the end of the first series. Although as the series is quite short each episode is very high quality and always progresses the story, so you could argue less is more.

    From Wikipedia:

Homeland is a drama/thriller TV series, the series follows Carrie Mathison, a CIA operations officer who, after conducting an unauthorized operation in Iraq, is put on probation and reassigned to the CIA's Counterterrorism Center in Langley, Virginia. In Iraq, Carrie was warned by an asset that an American prisoner of war had been turned by Al-Qaeda. Carrie's job grows complicated when her boss, Director of the Counterterrorism Center David Estes, calls Carrie and her colleagues in for an emergency briefing. Carrie learns that Nicholas Brody, a U.S. Marine Sergeant who had been reported as missing in action since 2003, has been rescued during a Delta Force raid on a compound belonging to terrorist Abu Nazir. Carrie comes to believe that Brody is the American prisoner of war that her asset in Iraq was talking about. However, the federal government and her superiors at the CIA consider Brody a war hero. Realizing it would be nearly impossible to convince her boss to place Brody under surveillance, Carrie approaches the only other person she can trust, Saul Berenson. The two must now work together to investigate Brody and prevent another terrorist attack on American soil.

Loved the ending to that episode. Homeland makes for a great 24 replacement show. I was worried when House ended that I wouldn't find a show as interesting but then Homeland came along. Another one to look out for is Last Resort, the first episode was amazing, I just hope they can keep the standard up. Thankfully because of the lack of new interesting TV shows from America I've been able to catch up on some I missed out on. The best show I can think of is Breaking Bad, heard so many good things about it and now I'm on season 4 I can see why it gets the praise that it does!

Haven't seen it but I wanted to watch it when it came out. I thought thought that it was a bit like the Manchurian candidate (not the one with frank Sinatra). which to be honest should be a really good watch. I might have to watch series one especially if its short and you get good bang for your buck.
