Is All These Programs We Install On Winows Really Nessasary??

  1. hi i was woundering there are so many downloads out there i just was mucking around with a dell computer i found at the recycling depo i have installed windows 7 ultimate (non genuine) and i was thinking do i really need all the stuff on my pc? because windows 7 has all you need for a home and buisiness computer

    Disk Cleaner
    Disk Defrager
    Internet Browser
    Windows Media Player
    Windows Picture Viewer
    Windows File Browser
    Windows Defender

    And i thing to my self thats all i really need just to do what i need download stuff because it just defrags our disk so what do u think digiex

    Well disc defrag is built in to Windows 7 and it works fine.
    Use what ever internet browser you like.
    Media Player / Picture viewer do the job, depending on what you want they are better alternatives out there.
    Windows File Browser (I presume you mean explorer?) You do need this otherwise how do you access your files?
    Windows Defender could help you, but with some good antivirus and common sense you should not need that.

    Disk Cleaner - never use it to be honest
    Disk Defrager - yes, runs in the background fine
    Internet Browser - yes, even if you dont use IE you can download another with it
    Windows Media Player - yes, would be bad if windows could not play anything out the box
    Windows Picture Viewer - see above
    Windows File Browser - yes, kinda could not use a PC without it?
    Windows Defender - it helps people who install anything on there pc's a bit.

    Its all optional but you need something to get you started, the average user will not know they are alternatives.

    To be fair apart from IE most of them do a pretty good job anyway.
