Kotaku reports that one of its readers received a package, without warning, from Microsoft this week. To his surprise, it contained a custom Xbox 360 console, with a gray and green color scheme and a grey-silver Xbox 360 controller. It also has a special logo on the side with the Xbox Live theme and the words, "A Decade of Entertainment." A poster on Reddit says he received the same package. Microsoft did not publicize this very special gesture ahead of time but the company's Larry Hryb has confirmed that Microsoft is indeed sending out these packages out on his Twitter account, although it's not clear how many people will be lucky enough to get one. He also said that Microsoft will be offering a way for anyone to win one of these custom Xbox 360 consoles later this week.
I'm going to assume they're giving this to the people who've been on XBL solidly for the 10 years it's been in service? Would make sense and such a nice gesture from MS. Bit taken back by it actually. Never heard of Nintendo or Sony doing such things. Also the 10 year anniversary is officially tomorrow
Xbox Live's Major Nelson ยป Xbox LIVE Turns 10 this week : Check this out on this Thursday when the contest's going live.
Found some more images. They can send you a 250gb version console & 1 year of live but no 320gb drive. They should of gave them a 500gb drive.
I'd love to win this one. 250 GB is more than enough, and my original Xbox 360 S is 250 GB which never went over the limit so it's perfectly fine. With luck I might win Major Nelson's contest, but not too sure. Edit: The Xbox 360 LE is only for US residents (bummer ), however, the 1 Year Xbox LIVE Gold memberships Nelson is giving away are worldwide (Twitter).
