Microsoft has confirmed it's working on Xbox LIVE integration for future Windows Mobile devices Neowin reports.

In a job posting for a LIVE engagement program manager, the software giant hints at what is being planned. "We need a Principle Program Manager who can help drive the platform and bring Xbox LIVE enabled games to Windows Mobile. This person will focus specifically on what makes gaming experiences "LIVE Enabled" through aspects such as avatar integration, social interactions, and multi-screen experiences."

Mobile Tech World spotted the job listing alongside another which details a role "working directly with a top Korean cellular phone manufacturer, who has made a large commitment to Windows Mobile." Clearly this is a subtle reference to LG. The confirmation of a close relationship with LG only adds to speculation regarding next weeks CES announcement by Sprint. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is due to hold a joint press conference with LG and Sprint shortly after his opening keynote next Wednesday. It is rumored that Sprint will unveil a WiMax smart phone manufactured by LG.

Microsoft also confirmed the existence of Windows Mobile 6.5.3 which is expected to be released shortly. Windows Mobile 7 is expected "late next year" after a Microsoft official confirmed the time frame earlier this month. In September this year, Microsoft confirmed that the current team of 1,000 developers, working on Windows Mobile 7, are planning to feature social networks as a key element of Windows Mobile 7. Since September it has been quiet on the Windows Mobile 7 front. Microsoft officials confirmed they would talk about Windows Mobile 7 at the upcoming MIX 2010 conference in March next year.

I don't want to sound bad, but i think Microsoft should support the 360 a lot more. in my country, all i saw during christmas time was PS3 commercials. as a 360 user, i think Microsoft should go all in on the 360, because its a great console, and if Microsoft wants to lead on the next generation of consoles, they need to lead on the current one.
On the other hand, i think its very good for Microsoft to broaden their horizons. Great post, InsaneNutter:D

I'm from Portugal, and all you hear about here is PS3. There are even shops where there are PS3 and some Wii games but no Xbox 360:(
