Modern Warfare 2 PC Petition Nearing 110K Signatures While Bowling Attempts to Ease Rage Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling (aka FourZeroTwo) dropped an enormous bombshell on it’s PC community earlier this week by announcing that they wouldn’t be supporting dedicated servers. Very soon after this announcement, a petition was started by the PC community who were looking forward to MW2 on PC and it’s nearing 110,000 signatures already! The thing has only been around for around a week. If you have not signed the petition and would like to, head on over here. Because of the size of the petition already, it is hard for Infinity Ward to ignore it. Bowling has responded by trying to explain what IWNET is. It’s pretty much turning online PC gaming into what you’re used to on your console. Instead of looking through lists of servers, you’ll automatically be put into whatever game IWNET thinks will be best for you. You’ll technically be turning your computer into it’s own private server. Check out the rest of the information at FourZeroTwo's Blog.
That’s a bit rubbish to be honest, I can see why PC gamers won’t be happy about that. Dedicated servers is one thing console gaming need to inherit from pc gaming, I dont see why the option wouldn’t be included in the PC version... especially considering how much they want for the game.
