We all know that Modern Warfare 2 will most likely be the biggest game of the year, if not the last decade. I was just thinking that a lot of games have been overshadowed by MW2 this year and some were very underrated. What do you guys think the most underrated game of this year was, or will be if the game isn't out just yet? At this point, I would have to say that my choice right now is Prototype. The game only got mediocre reviews but the game was actually really great. I have never played a game with so much action going on at any given time as that game delivers. If I can remember any others from this year (a lot of games came out ), I will be sure to report. Now what are your picks?
I was released about this time last year but if it counts, my vote would be for James Bond: Quantum of Solace. It only received average reviews however the campaign was great (still got the last level or 2 to finish), always full of action as you would expect from a bond game. It’s the multiplayer that got me though, I really enjoyed playing deathmatch on xbox live with all the different weapons, gadgets and so on. Easily the best bond game that’s been released in a long time.
I agree with KillerWhiteMan, Prototype being underrated. Just did a Google search to look for other possible underrated games and Digiex is the top link (above Giantbomb even!)! Madworld would have to be another one.
Prototype is gooood but what i thought was underrated was Lego Indiana Jones ( It was a HUGE Letdown!!
Well letdowns are different than underrated. Underrated is when you thought the game was really great but most of the game reviews were worse than what they should have been (in your opinion).
Well there is not as much hype going around on Assassins Creed 2 but it looks like a great game but as you said, it will be in the shadow of MW2.
I bought Assassin's Creed II on the 18th, and it is an amazing game. There was not too much going on about the game as you mentioned. Those of you that played the first one and thought it was repetitive, this one is not in any way. The mission structure has much more variety than before and the gamplay mechanics have been improved quite a bit. Go pick the game up if you are an AC fan!
I'm kind of shocked that I agree with KillerWhiteMan in that Assasins Creed 2 is kind of quiet with seemingly hardly any publicity going on for the game. I've seen 2 10 sec ads on TV and a few adverts in print but that's it. The first game seemed to have huge press and marketing behind it. Maybe they don't want to push this game as much but they should. From what I've read it's better than the first and is cleaning up in the reviews (so I don't think it's underrated, just under hyped)! Seems MW2 really has encompassed the whole of November. Well apart from L4D2 as well.
The games that have come out this month have all been swallowed up by MW2, which is a real shame because there a some good ones: L4D2, AC2, The God of War Collection on the PS3.
Definitely. Prototype was ok, not worth the 60$ I payed for it though. The wretched mini-games were the attempt to make Prototype seem long. Borderlands was great, its a game that is fun in single player and even better in multiplayer. Might I add Borderlands DLC will be out soon.
