My laptop is temporarily down again, don't know how long i'll be out for. My power cable is shot (yes the second time) The metal and plastic piece that goes into the laptop somehow cut, I honestly have no idea how it happened, also where the charger plugs into the laptop somehow slid to the right by in inch which I also still have no idea how, isn't great when things break on you and its unexplainable. I'll try to post a picture of the power cable because I can definitely say I have never seen anything happen like this before.
Small update, I fixed my laptop myself, pretty easy as expected, turns out the laptop was a defective build as the charger was never in the right spot in the first place. I tried to order yet another cable but they declined my credit card because its only $20 and I have over $40 on the card so that obviously makes lots of sense. So not really sure how i'll get a cable, using my girlfriends mini laptop and its definitely mini, pretty much fits in my palm, so I'm not completely out but I can't really upload anything as it only has a 30GB hard drive. So not really sure when i'll get my laptop working again as they don't want to use a legitimate credit card.
The laptop itself I fixed, it was easy, where the charger plugs in was slid to the right and out of place, the thing is if the charger was in the right place in the beginning it would of been impossible for it to slide out of place like it did (there is a certain spot for it to slide into and when its in there the only way it can be taken out of place is if the laptop is taken apart and it was the first time I took it apart), though I fixed it so I can't really do anything about that defect that happened. Anyways I was able to order the power cable, had to use another card to do it but I should have it by monday, so i'm not out too long.
Wow some seriously bad luck with your laptop there Dark Scyth. Might be cheaper for you to buy a new laptop at this rate Let us know if you're browsing Digiex through your Wii again (come to think of it, I have the browser but haven't needed to use it, yet).
If you're going to wind up with a broken laptop anyway if you don't fix it. Why not fix it with some duct tape?
Trebor skimming through what I said. Thankfully I don't have to use the dreaded Wii, if it came down to it I could use my PS3 to browse but i'm using a mini laptop (literally called mini not just me calling it a mini). My cable should be here by monday, then things will be back to normal for a few months until this one goes out...which will likely happen.
I actually did read what you put about your GFs "mini" laptop. Was just wondering what would happen if you lost access to it somehow. What would you have then to browse Digiex?
Oops As far as not having access to the mini that I don't have to worry about, living in the same house and all, its a little hard not to have access to it, though if for some reason I didn't it would be an obvious PS3 browsing, which would mean i'd actually turn on my PS3 which I haven't done for months. Though i'll get my cable on monday so then I'll go back to the massive 17'' behemoth.
Well, i got the power cable yesterday, now I have a new problem My mouse touchpad doesn't work so i have to use a wireless mouse to use it, I assume its a loose wire so something small like that but can't really be sure until I take it apart again. EDIT: OK IT IS FINALLY FIXED. The damn cable came completely out and ribbon cable is such a pain in the ass, technically my girl fixed it my hands were too big, in order to connect it the laptop has to barely be open and when I tried it was too far away to be able to connect it but thankfully she was able to connect it. This laptop is never being opened again.
We have two laptops. One broke the other week but I'm looking to buy a computer near June time. I bought a new hard drive for it but it did not solve the problem. The problem is the motherboard which need £150 to fix. Rather buy a new and better PC.
