Thats likely a bad block, you should be able to extract the files you need out the nand fine though.

I think you will also need to remap the bad blocks after creating your 12611 nand, i'm honestly not 100% about that though as the two consoles I have Jtagged myself have not had bad blocks. Hopefully someone reading this can give you a better answer.

If the console doesn't boot to flash via USB you need to open the 360 up and connect a USB programmer up to the 360's motherboard.

Got that, have a nandx, just wondering about how to make that hacked 12611. Can freeboot toolbox maker just make that for me? Then flashing this via usb is the same procedure as when I first put xell and whatnot on there?

Yup you got it, Its same thing just with a newer version of FreeBoot.

FreeBoot toolbox basically automates the process you go though in this guide, good luck.

You're in the same boat as me, save I have a falcon. You're going to have to flash via usb or lpt with a new version, I'm going to have freeboot toolbox maker make mine since that is what I used to go from 7371 to 9199 and it did the trick. This time I'll just have to use the steps I did with the initial flash but use this image from freeboot toolbox maker, at least this is what I have gathered from InsaneNutter.

Edit: With freeboot toolbox maker do I select creating custom freeboot and or make the filename destination freeboot.bin if I am going to be flashing via usb?

Was just looking through the files I used to jtag mine and saw that I used Jtag tool, on a hunch I checked to see if coolshrimp updated the tool for 12611 and he has. I'm going to try this and see if this works. Here's the link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NWN4HQG2

Is this an instance when I would choose to repair a bad nand, since I have a dump from when it was at 7371 and not jtagged?

The name should not matter when doing it with a usb nand reader.

Its likely do to with the new AP2.5 protection, using the latest dashlaunch should let you play them from the hard drive if converted to Games on Demand containers. This thread is not about getting games to work, maybe start a new one?

I've tried using my origional nand and my xbr.bin to get the smc/kv, tried flashing with lpt, updflash.bin in xell, and flash360 from freeboot dashboard with no luck. It prevents xell from booting and either gives me a black screen or 3rod when I power on my xenon.

So do I pretend I'm flashing it for the first time and go through all the steps with jtag tool or do I just put xell on it and flash it through xell with the file from freeboot toolbox maker?

Happened to me too, trying to figure out what to do as well.

Edit: Here's my plan. I can't get into xell so I'm going to hook up my nand-x and flash xell back on there with jtag tool 2.20. Then I am going to use my 9199 jtag backup from 360 flash and use that to create an image with freeboot toolbox maker for my falcon using the cpu key I saved off from my initial jtagging and then boot into xell and apply that via usb drive. Should I use the 9199 jtag backup or should I use the 7371 prejtag image with freeboot toolbox maker?

    Important Notes:
    Falcon 16mb
    USB NandX + jtag Connection (330ohm setting (works with XBR3), 470ohm E79s)

    Followed this tutorial...

I even tried 2.20 of CoolShrimp's jtag tool... Same exact result... no video. I can flash my original bin and it boots. I can flash XBR3, and it boots fine. But I cannot for the life of me get the new dash going. Always boots with no video. I dont get any error screen, no red lights, no green led animation for that matter either. Just sits there with center green light. Anybody got any advice? Please.

Used 360 Flash Tool to extract the smc_dec.bin from my XBR image (instead of my original.bin image) and rebuilt. Works like a charm.
