Format with the xbox360 again.DO NOT FORMAT IN WINDOWS or the drive will corrupt.
if that doesn't work proceed below
1.undo the drive using the undo.bin
2.shut down computer then turn it back on and make sure its recognized as a western digital through hddhackr(dont flash it yet)
3.if it comes up western digital, move the undo.bin file to a different place and label it undo.old.bin. (if not, retry steps 1 and 2)
**optional(ONLY if it shows western digital)** you can use any hard drive formatter to format the drive.gparted live works good.
4.run hddhackr on the drive again(make sure to create the partitions when it asks) and it will create a new undo.bin(this is why it needs deleted or moved).
5.format in xbox 360 and it should work fine.connect to xbox live and get the latest update if you can.

Didn't catch your reply sooner, but this is what I did when I woke up this morning.
I took out the drive, restored it with the undo.bin
went into windows 7 64 bit, repartioned it and formated it to ntfs. ran a full disc sector scan, it found 111 bad sectors, repaired other stuff blah blah.
booted to dos, ran hddhackr again.
reflashed it to hitachi 250.bin, repartitioned it. 0/2/3
turned off computer, stuck it into the 360.
360 recognized drive, always had anyhow, 239 gigs free.
I reformated it anyways, cleared the cache.
installed Game A, worked fine as expected.
tried to install game B, failed at 55%
tried to install game C, failed at 49%

So at some specific point on the HD, it's not writing or giving errors. Formatting and marking bad sectors didn't seem to fix this. Does the 360 even have any disc check tools lol?

So what should I do now? it's a brand new drive. Pretty sure I flashed correctly and all that. Should I reflash to WD, then format as you suggested?
What should I format it to, fat32 I guess?

It's already on the latest update from xbox live. I'm 100% sure there's no problems with the game disc or dvd reader.

Maybe it's just a bad drive I dunno. Guess I'll rma it if can't get it to work. Anyone else ever get problems like this.

if there is bad sectors on the drive i recommend you to flash it back to western digital, then return it.

edit:when you receive a new one check for bad sectors.if its good then use hddhackr

I got a 2nd drive already, I had ordered 2, was gonna give one to my brother. Wanted to make sure it's prob just a bad hd before I opened up the 2nd drive hehe.
Guess I'll hook up the new drive and check for bad sectors first this time.

Gotta flash back the old one and reformat to ntfs then return it hehe, don't want them finding xbox partitions on it lol.

update: stuck in 2nd drive, partitioned and formatted, no bad sectors found. Flashed and stuck into 360, working perfectly. I guess that first drive was broken. Had slow transfer speeds too when I tried to copy stuff to it. Oh well, RMA'd it, gotta pay for shipping how lame.

    Hi,

I have succesfully flashed my 250gb scorpio blue hard disk.My xbox recognises the harddisk.
Restoring the partition 2 with xplorer360 worked fine for me, but when I tried to get the content folder on the harddisk, xplorer360 just keeps crashing. Ive tried on different computers, and Ive tried to do it 1 folder at the time. Even one File at the time keeps crashing, is there an alternative way???

    thanks in advance

PS. Ive tried only on Windows7 64bit computers. Should i find a XP?

Fixed. I used a Sata to USB from an sata disk enclosure. My xbox recognised it as a transfer cable. Everything working perfectly now!!

    Thanks Insanenutter

    bug?

I made a backup of my 20gb standard disk with 360 xplorer on my pc and i have ordered a 250 WD disk.
the issue is that my box no longer can detect my standard 20gb drive.

I have seen lots of poor reviews about this hack and and with direct false information.
One of the reviews claimed that u could use any sata drive so i have had a Hitachi 160Gb drive connected to my box and im worried that i might have bricked my controllercard in my xbox.

    Any ideas?

The poor reviews are from people that always buy something with a ms sticker and hate hackers.

The 20gb should be fine unless you formatted it or used disk management to mount the disk.

I have a request for help

I finished the guide just fine, but when I plugged my drive back into my xbox I got the right light on the lower right hand side of the front ring and an error 69 on the screen. so I figured that I would start over. I put the drive back in my computer and tried to run hddhackr on it again and get an error dumping sector 16 when it tries to flash the drive.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

    run hddhackr

Thank you, Rick. Worked like a charm.
Just an FYI: On my Asus P5KPL board, I had to connect the drive to SATA 1 to flash.

use this Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File and Disk Recovery - Free Download to recover the file from your flash drive the file is undo.bin

do a deep scan also to find it.if you can't just hope someone will upload it some day

If it's the same exact model of the hard drive of the undo.BIN it will work.

There is no .INI file its .BIN file
