I have hddhackr v1.30 and the 250GB HDDSS.bin file from this guide: https://digiex.net/guides-reviews/c...b-sata-drive-work-xbox-360-xbox-360-slim.html

the hdd I have is a WD Blue Scorpio BEVT (manufactured 2011).

First I mistakenly tried to create the 0/2/3 partition and hddhackr gave me an error BSY Error 0x8007 unable to create partition 0.

My second attempt I initialized the drive in windows disk manager (I have Windows XP Pro SP3, 32-bit), but DID NOT format the drive. It just shows up as unallocated.

Then I rebooted and started hddhackr again this time doing the firmware option. It said firmware installed successfully but then gave me an error saying it cannot create restore and undo couldn't be made. It then exited the program.

Then I rebooted again and this time I tried doing the partition step since it didn't do that step the previous time. This time it said partitions completed successfully and then the program froze. I shut off the computer and checked the drive, my Xbox 360 still doesn't see the drive.

I downloaded Xplorer360 Extreme (and the 250GB version) and tried opening the drive through that. Xplorer360 can see the drive and partitions 0/2/3 are visible.

So where do I go from here? How can I wipe this drive and try to do the process again from step 1?

you have to undo the drive then move that file off of your flash drive then use hddhackr again

I did the undo, which apparently was successful. I turned off my PC and waited 10 seconds. Then booted up and deleted the undo.bin from the thumbdrive. I tried then running hddhackr, it found the harddrive but did not display a manufacturer name for it. I tried flashing the firmware but it said unable to read sector 16 and exited the program.

Did we do more damage? The drive is not even showing up in windows anymore (not even in the disk manager where you could initialize it.)

Hmm? Try gparted live(around 100mb),you can either burn it to a disk or flash drive. This tool can format, and partition many filesystems, don't format your own hard drive by accident.

    download> GParted -- About
    to use
GParted -- GParted Manual <refer to picture on there
/dev/sda is the device change it to the hard drive you have 250gb

To put on a flash drive use this UNetbootin - Homepage and Downloads

I suspect it may have died. The HD doesn't seem to spin anymore, and I've tried using a few different power cables to be sure. I'll have to return it to the store and get another. Atleast I know how to do this now. :|

Don't tell em what you did and delete any trace of undo.bin on your hard drive and flash drive so this wont happen again. Please read the guide over again.
Just another note.If you flash the drive then undo it.Then you want to flash it again, make sure its a WD then delete the undo.bin(new one not mine)

I'm positive that you doing this screwed up the drive by doing this.
You never do this with any xbox 360 hard drive flashed or retail.

Exchanged HDDs without a hitch, got another of the same model/capacity. Ran Hddhackr and did firmware. Worked like a charm and everything is up and running. Oddly it never mentioned on screen doing the partition 0/2/3 step. It told me it was ready to install in the xbox anyway, so I went ahead and popped it in--works just fine! Now if only M$ didn't have to hoard 10+ GB of the harddrive for system crap. :-@
