It is possible but you'll need a modded PS2 capable of running ELF files. Free Mcboot or a modchip that can run elfs. OPL (Open PS2 Loader) can run games from USB, though the PS2 USB ports are limited to 1.1 so videos skip while being played and game load times can be pretty long. You could also use burned games instead if you use ESR + Free Mcboot, which runs normal speeds but the PS2 can be finiky if you pick a cheap brand and not play. If you have questions i'll answer the best I can but google may be a better resourse to use.
sorry insanenutter but i don't know how to start a topic... and dark scyth i use swap magic 3.6 to play the games
Swap Magic should also work too. You'll have to make a folder name SWAPMAGIC in the root of the device you want to use and rename Open PS2 Loader to SMBOOT0.ELF inside the folder. If you fail to name it like that with caps, you won't be able to boot it up. Also if you want to create a thread, go to the thread list that correlates to your problem, in this case, the "Console Help" section. Once in that section, towards the top of the page you'll see "Start New Thread." Use that to post new topics.
oh and i forgat i need some tips in makeing the games for ps2... you see most of the games i do work but when i make a game that's over 4 gb it won't work and the ps2 starts makeing a strange sound example of games that didn't workef jam fight for new york,50 cent bulletproof, gta san andreas etc... does anyone know's why it does that?
In other words, as soon as you open up the devive make the folder there. To know why you'd be having problems for certain games I'd have to know how you're trying to boot them and your ripping methods.
Tutorial on how to burn CD / DVD images (ISO's) with IMG Burn here: https://digiex.net/guides-reviews/g...i-dvd-gi-img-iso-mds-nrg-pdi-images-disc.html
that's how i do them too for the ps2 but games over 4 gb won't work and the ps starts makeing a strange sound
can i get some help with those games over 4 gb because they don't work it's like this i burn the game that has over 4 gb i put it in the ps2 it loads for 3 seconds then it stops and the ps starts makeing a strange sound
Moved the last few posts here. Are you burning the games on a dual layer disc? Also if the game has a .DVD (probably 1 or 2 kb) burn that with IMG Burn and not the .ISO, other than that i dont know as i've never owned a PS2.
It depends, it could be the reason it doesn't work. How big is the game? You can get up to 8.5 GB on a dual layer disc.
well 50 cent bulletproof has 4.20 gb def jam fight for ny has 2.20 gb but won't work on story mode, god of war has 3.90 gb but won't work after completing half of the game or so,syphon filter logan's shadow 4.11 won't work, syphon filter dark mirror 3.50 gb won't work and also a 2gb game won't work which is the sims urbz in the city
Could be bad downloads, bad discs your burning them to, the ps2 might not like the discs, your dvd burner could even be failing. Hard to say really, maybe try burning them on a different computer with some discs confirmed to be good for the PS2. Maybe someone with a modded PS2 can help you more, as i dont know that much about them.
i tryed different disks different program and on other pc...but you said about a dual layer disk could that work?
