Does it matter what version of windows is installed? Or perhaps how old the computer is?

All three of the laptops I used are fairly new. Not sure if they may have different security measures?

Laptops are not the best, a lot of Bios's are locked down and you can not configure what needs to be changed to allow Hddhackr to work.

Do you not have access to an old desktop PC?

Yeah I figured that may be the problem.
I do have a "Dell Optiplex GX150 SD Desktop PIII Computer" though I do not believe I'm able to hook up the harddrive I want to hack to it. Or perhaps I'm just not sure how it works.

Any advice you could give me, perhaps?

I think I understand all of your guide, apart from the backing up your data bit (partition 3 bit). I reread that part several times but could understand what I was meant to do...could you help?

    Nice guide

Thanks for this guide, I just "upgraded" my slim 250gb to 320gb using a WD 500gb bpvt for future releases and also I bought a slim hdd case than looks identical than my original. I used a gateway NV59 laptop with win7 64bits. Like a few people, I had the "hddss.bin is not present" problem message but I fixed following the codealpha (thanx) suggestion posted in page 6. Everything is running flawslessly.

Will I be able to play original xbox games if I do this mod?

Sorry if it's a silly question, just want to clarify prior to making this purchase.

    Hey, guys!

First of all, thanks for the tutorial. The 320Gb HD is working perfectly well.

I'm having only one small problem: When I use Xplorer360 to Backup my saved games, DLC, etc, it shows nothing on Partition 3. I did the Partition 2 backup, no problems, but partition 2 is the only one with some kind of contents.... I read and re-read many times the tutorial, and found nothing for this kind of situation. I am running Xplorer360 as administrator, and the BIOS shows both my HDDs (the main one and the Xbox one).

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

xplorer360 is for 20gb hard drives and the partition 2 install
(xplorer360 has many versions for each drive)
xplorer360 320gb version is only for 320gb drives

Got it... My HD is 60Gb, so I found the right version of Xplorer360, and got the partition 3 files.... Thanks for the help!

from other posts some people say change the filename from
    Code:
    hddss.bin
    to
    Code:
    hddss
    and then it should work

    Hi.
I have a 160GB BEVT drive. I want to format it with hddhackr. Is any way to format it full? I mean I want to have 160GB on my xbox, can I do that? Or I have to use the 120GB bin file.
    Thanks in advance!
