Latest is 2.0.14699.0, released on December 6, 2011. Changelog - Xbox 360 system software - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Microsoft has begun rolling out a system update that brings the dash / kernel to version 2.0.14717.0 No idea what has changed yet, if you have a modified console you would be advised to stay offline for now.
That isn't updated on the spot, so it's wrong actually. Latest is 2.0.14717, released on February 14 2012. Not sure what the update did, if anything at all really. I do know that backups still work for those who are curious to know. Edit: Nutty beat me to it!
Right, well when I checked that page & turned on my 360 today to confirm I never got an update so thought it was the latest, obviously they rolled it out in waves. EDIT: Hope this is the fix for the washed out video's, play stuff off a USB looks awful, not had a chance to check though.
Yep, waves like usual. I was prompted to update 5AM (12 hours ago) and a friend that lives in the same town still hasn't been prompted to update.
No update for me yet,i did find some info that it does change rgh, jtag consoles 14717 Update: What I've found out so far with Nand dumps!
Is your console flashed Rick? people are saying only flashed consoles are getting the update so far. I have not personally got asked to update and my console is not flashed.
if they attack only the flashed consoles why would they ask to upgrade specially when peep started to get aware of this particular action? Wouldnt they be able to perform a silent kill?
Well at first people would think its just rolling out in waves, then by the time people catch on they have enough test subjects. They might not be just something i read on another forum so was curious to see if that applied to people here. Most people will say yes to anything a computer / console askes them regardless "can i steal your credit card details" "yes".
Someone I know in Canada was prompted to update about the same time as me and his console was not flashed. I think it's an update to do with Kinect as "Voice Studio" is under the Social tab in the App Marketplace which wasn't there previously.
You can go and see what is added in Wikipedia page. DVD ROMs are no longer allowed to read Truncated disks.
Don't believe everything you read on Wikipedia, remember anyone can edit it... its changing every minute or so atm And now
Not accusing you not arguing with you but anyone (unless his IP is banned) can go there, edit to funny humorous crap like the first screenshot and claim what wiki is capable of being naughty. And to support you until it is firm and solid the "changes" seem to continue to put in there randomly and In the end wiki remains neutral with what actually changed in the dashboard software. For instance up in the morning they provided two points about truncated backups and phat console's rgh and now they put on major nelson's crap in there. Edit: Major Nelson's crap is backed by se7ensins forums. http://majornelson.com/2012/02/16/xbox-360-system-update-rolling-out/
The update is for the colour fix officially: Xbox 360 color fix rolling out in new system update | The Verge It also alters stuff to do with the RGH hack on Phat consoles from what ive been reading.
