When browsing the Marketplace on the RTM build of Windows 8 this afternoon i noticed the Smart Glass app was available to download, as my console's are in the beta i figured i would download the app and see if it worked. To my surprise it actually did work, very well! As i have Windows 8 running on a PC and not a touch enabled device i dont think i can really use it to its full advantage. The app did however list all the games on my console, i could then set beacons from my PC informing friends i wanted to play a particular game, then launch that game directly from my PC, even if the Xbox was doing something else. With Internet Explorer for Xbox 360 i did some some touch screen control's i could click with the mouse, which did things on the screen. That however is of no real use without a touch screen device. Screenshots attached below.
View the Windows 8 RTM ISO's Members Only Downloads [No Cracks / Crack Discussion] thread in the member hideout section. You can download it from the Digiex Members Only FTP, just remember you can not buy a key to activate it yet. So keep that in mind if you decide to install it, i would personally dual boot it with Windows 7 for now.
Yes, keys are just for installation now, not activation. SmartGlass doesn't find my Xbox for now, strangely..
I think you need to be in the Xbox live fall dashboard Beta program for you to be able to use smartglass
I am in the beta program (thanks to the fast newspost and link here on Digiex). Yes, the setting I see in the beta is called 'Remote Devices' and from there 'Smartglass Apps' is set to On.
