Alright, so after testing it and writing zeros do I just re-hack it using HddHackr?

I attached a photo of the tests results.

Okay so I had a major problem with my stock hard drive, (I installed GTA V and it would start crashing, also any game that had extra content installed onto my hard drive would crash)
So I followed your tutorial and success! i can play all games without any crashes, but now my xbox is asking for an xbox live update and wouldn't you know it i can't connect to live, it gives me a matchmaking service alert.
If anybody knows what's going on I would greatly appreciate some advice!

Alright,so I re-hacked the hardrive and it does the exact same thing :( but now since I didn't do the Full Erase when writing zeros the first time, that's what I'm doing right now. Hopefully that fixes it. And just in case it doesn't, what could be wrong then?

Maybe it's not flashing right. What does the drive show up in the bios after it's hacked?

Try recovering it using this program. Download Recuva 1.51.1063 - FileHippo.com

Try the deepscan of the usb drive.
If you can't format it on the xbox 360. Then it's ok to format the drive on the computer, it won't work on the xbox 360 though.

    Dear Rick and InsaneNutter ,

could you please update the first post regarding the new LPVX series? Because, it's nearly impossible to find old LPVT and BEVT drives in stores. Many users (including myself) are looking for the supported drives with no luck. The only 2.5" WD drives I can find in my country are: WD3200LPVX and WD5000LPVX.

The WD5000LPVX appears to work fine: https://digiex.net/guides-reviews/c...work-xbox-360-xbox-360-slim-65.html#post71147

I have added the WD5000LPVX - 500GB to the list, if people confirm other drives as working i will do the same, i think however most drives in the LPVX series should also work.

I've been meaning to get around to doing this for a looooooong time. Like over two years probably. I can pick up a Western Digital 320GB Scorpio Blue WD3200BEVT (Link) drive for $50 and I'm pretty tempted to finally do it. I have the 4GB Slim version.

I'm not looking to add anything special, I just need space (couldn't play Halo 4 multiplayer when I bought it because HDD wasn't big enough). How reliable is this hack in regards to data corruption and the like? I don't play my Xbox much because I'm either busy or playing on PC but I wouldn't want my saves to get messed up. I don't have any current saves to transfer or anything, just looking to kind of start new. Also, what are some common issues? Read a post here on some page about motherboard compatibility?

Edit: In regards to the "Xbox Classic Emulator", I assume that means allowing you to play original Xbox games on it? Since I have the 4GB Slim, how do I go about ensuring that I can play some of the old Xbox games? I know consoles are absolutely terrible when it comes to backwards compatibility, but there's probably only a couple that I'd even want to play honestly, like the first 2 Halo games.

Some people have trouble with hacking drives due to the bios settings. These can be usually changed for the hack, if not then you could try a different laptop or desktop pc. The wd hard drives are reliable to use on the xbox 360 until the drive itself breaks or some error happens which is rare. I have used a hacked drive for 2+ years now with no trouble. Make sure to keep the undo file just in case something happens or if you want to undo the drive in the future(for a computer, external storage, etc).

You can transfer the xbox emulator by downloading the partition 2 file, unzipping it and using xplorer 360 to transfer it to the hard drive. Insanenutter and other members have been using these hacked drives for much longer though.

Would there be any harm in buying a used HDD? It's almost half the price of a new one on Amazon ($25 v $45).

The drive could have years of use or little use. The return time is usually short, maybe 30 days to 90 days depending on the seller. The manufacturers warranty could be expired.

Thank you InsaneNutter, now I can confirm that WD5000LPVX is working perfect with Xbox360 Slim.
    In my case;
    - I have to format the flash disk as FAT32 (the only option)
    - The WD HDD needs to be formatted when plugged in the Xbox. And the Xbox asks for the Serial Number to continue formatting.
Then everything is OK. Thank you for the solution,
