Judging from the front page, the list of downloadable content has not been updated since 2014. Is the project in hiatus?

Xbox Live for the Xbox Classic has been discontinued for almost 8 years, unless anyone comes forward with some new content theirs not much that can be done. @Harcroft and co managed to obtain the majority of DLC that is actually usable. I think the main stuff that might be missing is roster updates and content that is only usable on Xbox Live and not system link.

I'm sure if something new surfaced an installer for it would eventually be made.

I'm sorry I can't be of any help. I never had an Xbox during its lifespan. It is really criminal that Microsoft would just through away all this content that was paid for, but I'm sure that somewhere in the terms and conditions gave them this right. It really says something when the people who would have been considered "pirates" back in the day are the only ones preserving this history. What a shame.

Is the DLC in this archive the NTSC-U or PAL versions?

I noticed that members are international, so asking about the region of the content and what that implies seemed fair. Thank you.

I dont think it matters though certainly for English language games as the content has been reported to work on NTSC and PAL Xbox's / copies of the game.

I'd imagine a lot of the stuff like the maps for Halo 2 work on European copies of the games too, however i can't be sure.

You'd have to ask @Harcroft if he returns for any more detailed information.

I see the main page has a "Live only content (Can only be used on Xbox Live)" section of DLC. What does this mean exactly? Sounds like it's unusable without Xbox Live, which doesn't exist anymore.

Yes it means what it says, the content can only be used on Xbox Live. So yes unless a service comes out in the future that can emulate Xbox Live theirs not much you can do with it now. However the content has been preserved which is the important thing.

Speaking of that, do you know how DLC is handled on XB1 for OG XBOX games? I do not own an XB1, so I cannot see for myself, but I noticed that you do. I can't find any information on it, but one would imagine that if a company gave them the license to a game, it would also extend to its DLC. I'm curious as KOTOR is one of the backwards-compatible games and it has DLC.

Unfortunately I don't own any of the few games which are currently backwards compatible. If any of my games become backwards compatible in the future I'll be sure to look in to it. Of the games compatible at the moment Crimson Skies is one which had DLC on the Xbox Classic.

    1) Your Xbox is probably overheating. Clean the fan and heatsinks.
    2) That game (while FANTASTIC) never really ran with a great framerate, especially during explosions.
    Also hi guys and gals.
    ZOMG he's still alive, I know...crazy right?

I'll get to responding to the rest of the posts in this thread within the next week. There is still a lot of work to be done.

Edit: Oh and InsaneNutter has me on Steam, it's not like I'm that hard to find if you need to reach me.

Nice to see you about Harcroft, I know you randomly check this thread every so often so wasn't going to pester you about it. I've not been on my Xbox Classic too much recently, however it's still one of my favourite consoles so I try keep up with what's going on.

Harcroft, it runs alot better now. I tried the day they made OG compatible. but I am hardly on my Xbox One anymore. All the games feel the same or are knockoffs lol.

    Black is an amazing game

Does anyone know what the Project Snowblind DLC is? There’s no description listed apart from needing XBL. The back of the physical game box doesn’t mention DLC, and I can’t find anything about it online. Also, it’s not listed as a title update, so... what is it then?

I did not know you were playing on an emulator. That makes more sense now. Yes Black was pretty damn fantastic.

This text is in the installer when you run it "Install new multiplayer map, Repair Bay. Constructed to service the Republic fleet of army air transports and long range fighters, the Repair Bay consists of several multistory repair hangers flanking a set of administrative offices in the middle. 1892 blocks"

I downloaded the DLC and copied the description from XBL myself so I can tell you it's a multiplayer map called Repair Bay. It only shows up for Xbox Live multiplayer matches. I wasn't about to find a way to make it show up in the offline multiplayer map list. It also had a title update, I never found any notes on what the update did.

Side note I also ripped the copy of Moonlight Sonata as it plays in a laboratory from the game itself, that is why it sounds like it's being played in an empty room.

The Live Only Content section is just what it says, content that can only be used on Xbox Live. Phantasy Star Online may be an exception to this as there are offline patches to make it work fully offline. I never did get any DLC for that or Sega GT Online though.

I am a little confused about the DLC. It says you have to run the game first, then run the DLC, but further down it says if you already have the content, you must delete it first. I guess I don't yet understand these DLC's enough.

You need to run the game before you install the DLC. That should be self explanatory. No save data on the system, so you wouldn't be able to install. As for the latter, that's only if you want to re-install the content. If you try to install it if it's already on your console, it will say something like "The content has already been installed.".
