    So, if I were to pull my hd out of my laptop and install the WD to be formatted for the xbox that would work? I'm guessing that's the purpose of the flashed usb to restart the computer from the flash drive? I trying to do this for my grandson so I really appreciate the help

    OK now I have the files on a 16g flash drive. All 3 files but not the undo.bin Can I format the WD hard drive via a usb cable?

    First thanks for trying to help. I don't follow you. the drive you want to hack needs to be connected where your laptop hard drive was. So you are saying I need to pull the HDD out of my laptop and put the new one that's getting formatted to go into the xbox INTO THE LAPTOP? ms dos is on...
