I got an xbox 360 60 GB hard drive off of ebay to replace my 20 GB. I plugged it into my xbox and it worked fine. I then tried to move my files from my 20 GB to my 60 GB using a hard drive transfer cable. In the process xbox recognized it as a usb storage device and formatted to 16 GB and now xbox won't recognize the drive unless it is plugged in via usb. Is there a way I can restore it?
which hard drive did you configure? if it was the 20gb hdd then you lost all of your gamesaves/profiles when you configured it.
When transferring you should plug the OLD one to the transfer cable, and don't format if it asks. If you are sure that your xbox can't see the hdd you can format it with your pc using the transfer cable I think xplorer can do that for you. You can find it from download center.
xplorer won't work bec the hard drive isn't in an fatx format even after I formatted it with the xbox
my plan was to try and clone my friends 60Gb to it using xplorer to create a back up, but xplorer won't read it
you messed it up by formatting with usb cable but i think if you format the drive in windows to fat32 it should pop up in system settings unformatted
windows 7 can only format 32 Gb via fat32 I found a fat32 formatter that does bigger drives should I try that?
yes and you have use this xplorer 360 60gb version for 60gb drives and then xplorer 360 extreme for 20gb drives or they will both corrupt InsaneNutter's directions for these
It's obviously a hacked 250GB, so you only have two options at this point. You can get ahold of the seller and ask for a refund/new one or if you're tech savy yourself, you can check out this guide and here is the sectors you'd need for the hard drive.
here is the link to the ebay item. Also i have the right xplorer programs they still don't recognize the 60 GB the 20 GB is fine. Dark Scyth I guess my only option is to try it your way then.
