Did you restore partition 2? this contains the Xbox emulator that is required to play backwards compatible games.

ohh, so you have to restore after partitioning? i see

just curious, what does partition 3 do? if 2 is for emulator and 0 is for saved games etc.

oh and thanks for the guide and following up on questions :)

Hey folks, quick question, I have a 160gb BEVS HD left over from a laptop that pooed on me. I recall reading somewhere that you could only use 60, 120, and 250gb drives on this hack? Is this true? I couldn't find that info again, so I'm asking here. It'll be for a slim, if that matters.
    Cheers,
    Alex

You can use any size of the compatible Western Digital hard drives, but on the xbox 360 it will be limited to 20, 60, 120 or 250gb (120gb in your case).
I did it with a 320gb Scorpio Blue and have a shiny new 250gb hdd now :)

    hi ppls.

got me a WD 250 GIG caviar blue BEVT for my 4 GB xbox 360 slim.

and i followed the guide and got the USB stick bootable,...
that worked since it does boot.

atm im using some older pc with like 2006 / 07 bios or somthin its an ASROCK board.
    - in my BIOS: when pc starts it says "sata 250 gb connected / sata drive found etc" -
    - like when bios / pc boots up...
and bios was set to "non-raid mode", and you could also choose that ACPI or what its called- mode but i didnt enable it - since i read here it has to be disabled.
and in bios it even lists the 250 gig hard drive correctly in bios settings as sata-drive so its connected properly i guess.
    - hdd connected to pc (only HardDisk at the moment)
    - so i boot from stick..., start hdd hacker 1.3v
    - hddhacker starts..., scans for drives
but it says shortly after in red letters "no SATA HDD available" (or somthin like that)

and of course then i donno how to get further... :(

and i tryed with 1.30 version etc. but since ppl start sayin here the guide is outdated, i dono what to do then in order to get this done.

i was like hopin just to follow the guide and not annoy ppl with question what to do now, but seems it cant be avoided.

so would be cool if someone could sum up what to do / or try it on newer PC with 2010 or newer board?
cause if anyone would, i may probably make it somehow -

yo thx 4 info in advance.

did version 1.30 detect the drive? if yes then you just select the flash option and its the same procedure, for the partitions im not sure if it creates them right after flashing so i recommend turning the pc off then run hddhackr and select the create partitions option

if you mean me - no 1.3v didnt detect it.
only my bios / when pc boots it detects it and mentions that a SATA drive is connected, like just as it shows graphic card and ram in booting process...

when i run 1.3v hddhacker it does not recognize the HD as valid sata drive.

    dont know why tho...

play around with the bios to see if you can get it working,if nothing works then you need to use a different computer

I followed the directions and everything worked but my xbox is showing that only 789mb out of the 250gb is available. I would greatly appreciate if anyone could help me fix this.

So I just flashed my 250gb WD Blue Scorpio WD2500BEVT successfully and I now I am a little stumped. I own a 4gb 360 Slim and I was wondering how I would go about transferring all of my things to my new hard drive. Do I have to put my new hard drive into my 360 and format it first? Or do I have to use that partitioning program first? Also, since I already have a newer Xbox 360, does it already come with the ability to play original Xbox games once I partition and format or do I need to do something separate to get that?

EDIT: I just went over the steps again and I don't think I was prompted with making partitions after I flashed it..

I followed step by step these instructions: http://youtu.be/VRanCwITI5A and I was not prompted to add partitions, is there something I missed?

re run hddhackr and use the partition option.
you need to copy partition 2 using xplorer 360 if you want to play original xbox games
read the first page so you know exactly
