It wasn't for me though. I prefer the Japanese naming convention, and if there's a fairly simple way to change the names in the Costume Change List to pretty much anything you want, I'm willing to learn. Thanks again.

There's a new 1.2 version in the first post . Not much difference other then correcting names and making it somewhat prettier

Very nice. I didn't need the game patch though; my game's currently set up just the way I prefer it. With the name corrections they're almost there, please pardon the pickiness now, you have M. Bison with a space after the period but not for Viper and Honda (space would be nice for them too, for consistency), as well as FeiLong and Chun-Li could be instead Fei Long and Chun Li respectively. Everything else looks great in the japver you made, thanks again very much for everything.

I redid the names based on the character select screen. There's never a space after the first initial (M.*space*Bison was a mistake in the japver one i did for you). Also it's Chun-Li and FeiLong

Fair enough, they were just minor observances and suggestions. Thanks again for everybody's efforts! Truly appreciated.

I guess I could, but it invovles pretty good knowledge of the directory structure and what files do what in the game (you have to figure out what files need renamed) plus knowledge on how explorer works. You also need some sort of image editing app to crop and resize the picture.

If you still want it, I can get to it maybe this weekend when i have enough time

    OK, then i'll wait.

I think I understand about directory structure and how explorer works.

About the image editing app, I think paint is good enough.

    Thanks in advance.

How to extend the Costume Changer

First off lets start by saying you need to understand what files are attached to what files. You also have to be comfortable with using explorer and some sort of image editor and possibly some sort of screenshot program. This is also somewhat hit and miss and rather advanced. Sometimes this trick will simply not work correctly

    1) Go download a custom costume. I'll be using the Makoto Half Kimano for this example. Make sure you take note of what costume it's based on. In this case it's costume 1

    2) Go into the correct folder in super street fighter IV for that costume. Copy all the costume files for the noted costume in step 1 into a new folder. For this example it's Makoto's first costume, so i copied all MKT_01 files to a new folder

    3) Extract the custom costume into that same folder you just created. If prompted overwrite any files.

    4) Now the tricky part. You have to fix the names. The costume number has to be the next available slot. Going by the example Makoto has 3 costumes built in, so this would be costume 4. So rename all the MKT_01*.* files to MKT_04*.*

    5) Take all the files you renamed and copy them back into the regular character folder. In this case it's Super Street Fighter IV\resource\battle\chara\MKT

    6) Now go into the Super Street Fighter IV folder. There's a sub folder name Images. Go to that folder. Inside the folder are images based on the folder name and costume number. In this case it's MKT01 through MKT04.jpg

7)There has to be an image for each custom costume or else the program will start throwing errors. The image name has to follow the same number as the files you renumbered. In this case it's MKT04.jpg. Copy one of the other image and rename it to the correct name. In my example I took MKT01.jpg, made a copy and renamed the copy MKT04.jpg

    8) Fire up the costume changer. If it all worked right there should now be a 4th costume option for makoto. Select the 4th costume and run the game

    9) To get the right picture you'll need to take a screenshot. Run the game and go into training mode. Select the character you just added and the correct color (in most cases it's 1). Select anyone for the other player and go into training mode

Now take a screenshot. You could use steam to do it, or with vista/win7 you could hit alt-enter to run it in a window and hit printscreen.

Now open your image editor. Either load the screenshot or paste it into a new image. Crop whatever half of the picture has the custom costume. Then take the remaining picture and resize to 356 x 400. Now save it into the images folder with the same name as you used in step 7

Is that from the unlocker or the costume changer? I know the game just got patched, so it' s possible the unlocker no longer works. I'm sure an updated version will appear sooner or later

It was the unlocker, but it's not a problem, I used the trainer cheat thing

However, there's a problem with the costume changer, I can't get custom costumes to load with it, it says some of the files are being used by another program whenever I click the apply button for costume 01, and hitting the return to default doesn't make any custom costumes work

Are you running this on vista/win 7 and if so, are you running this in admin mode? Is ssf4ae running when you use the costume changer?

Maybe also try turning off your antivirus and test the costume chnager

Also return to default means the default costume, aka costume 1

Thank you so much for those applications!
I'm having a question, though: Gouken's 3rd and 4th costumes do not appear in the costume changer, although I checked they are in the image folder; Am I the only one having this issue?

I don't have any issues with Gouken's 3rd and 4th costume here. Dunno what could be your problem
