Well everyone, today I join Digiex and hope to be a contributing member of the community.

Now with the introduction out of the way, I state my problems:

I would like to JTag my XBox, but I don't have a soldering iron and I'm too lazy to go buy one, and even more reluctant to buy a JTag modchip.

I also updated my 360 to v14699 before I had a chance to figure out that you couldn't JTag passed v7xxx.

I cannot connect to XBox LIVE so there is no further use for online gameplay.

My 360's disc drive cannot read games. It will play music and home DVD's just fine but games are a no-go.
    > It will say "Play Game" but will not provide a game preview icon.

I would like to know where I can obtain JTag software to put on a USB so I can boot off the USB and install the software.
    > Was hoping someone had this in the form of a $SystemUpdate to trick the XBox into thinking it's a newer update and goes to install the software.

I have FSD v2 downloaded, along with XeXLoader. Also whenever I try to run the CODE9999 game after copying to my USB with XTaf, it says "Corrupted Game"

So if anyone has any help/suggestions please throw it out here in-case another person has my problem and would also like a JTag.

Your 360s firmware is too high for the Jtag hack. There is no USB solution, if you want a 360 that can run unsigned content you have to RHG (Equal to Jtag, just works on higher firmwares and most consoles) your console. It's impossible to modify $SystemUpdate because that would break the signature and the Xbox would refuse it. Just like those programs you're trying to load, the 360 refuses it because it doesn't have a signature. For your DVD troubles cleaning the lens might do it some good since it can still pick up DVDs and CDs. If that even fails, you can swap the laser out rather than the whole disc drive or circuit board, which will cost you about 10 dollars but if for some reason both of those fail, swapping circuit boards should work.

So just ordering a new drive and swapping the IO board would work? Or if I just got another junk 360 and took the drive out would that work? Or how about swapping the lenses to keep the 360's drive's original IO board?

You take the original out the bad drive and swap it with a same model drive, you may also have to desolder & solder some wires depending on the drive.

Can anyone help me out with the CODE9999 corrupted game demo issue? I used XTaf GUI v31, and since I couldn't inject folders, I just created the folder "0000000000000000" under the Contents folder, then I created subfolders that correspond with the folders for CODE9999, and injected the CODE9999 files and it gives me the error. I think my 360 just can't play games...

Well after much study I've come to the conclusion that it probably can't play games, but I'm yet to try this horizon program.

EDIT: How do I tell if my 360 is bricked? I bought mine off a friend and I don't know if he got banned and I'm wondering if getting banned prevents you from playing any games...

EDIT2: My 360 isn't jtag'd so I want to know if I can run Flash360 or not... Also how do I obtain my CPU key?

Banned consoles allow you to play games.

CODE9999 is a jtag program right? You need to rgh(mod) your console for the cpu key.

I don't have the money, seeing as I'm only 14. But don't let that modify your current idea of who I am as I do know my way around with hacks and coding. What I need to know, is since I don't have the money to buy the chip to do the RGH, and I'm too lazy to read through the wiring schematics and do them, how am I going to be able to play games on my 360? Does the game-on-demand format require you to have a tagged box to play them? Also, I burned a 360 game to a DVD DL disc, and it says "Play Game", I go to see the info of the game, and it just has a box with XBOX LIVE inside it. Is this typical of a game? Also, is there any other way to run unsigned code, or possibly do research to find a way to sign the code? Was wondering if I did research on different XEX's, would I eventually find the area where they sign the code and therefore be able to use a hex editor to copy in the values and technically speaking, have a legit program?

Also was wondering, the header of every XEX I've gone into was "XEX2". Was wondering, in some Windows executable files, there are the following headers:
MZ, MZP (and others which I am yet to find)

So I was wondering if a generic executable has generic code identifying itself, which we've found, since most XEX's are around 8 to 20MB, it should be somewhat easy to find the generic code (amongst XEX's that all consoles will run) that identifies itself as valid... right?

With your situation, flashing your drive to lt+ 3.0 should be less difficult than doing the rgh hack.I have posted a link recently in this thread to a guide on how to do it.
Games on demand work if you have a license(through xbox live) to play them. You said you burned a game but it says play game, how did you burn the game?

XeXmenu is not signed with microsoft's unique signature, therefore it will never work on a non rgh or jtag console.

I ripped the ISO from my Halo 3 disc and burned a copy to a blank DVD DL with IMGBurn. Also I wondered if there was a lower-level platform that the XBOX runs under. Example: Windows runs under DOS. Linux runs under Bash. So there has to be a lower level platform that the XBOX runs under to operate.

    >Quote: rick550: "flashing your drive". I have no money to buy a converter cable for the power input on the drive, nor to even buy the wires to make my own connection.

    >Quote: rick550: "XeXmenu is not signed with microsoft's unique signature", So how could we go about signing it?

What dashboard are you on? And for the power to drive, just use the console to power the drive, connect the av as well.

There is no way to sign XeXmenu.

I currently am running under dash 14699. Could it be possible that my 360 doesn't think that the game default.xex is signed? Also, what language do people develop their own .xex files in and how can I go about getting it?

EDIT: I'm asuming they use C++ with a DirectX 9.0 or higher API SDK. But still not sure...

You 360 needs to be modified to run unsigned code, as your on dash 14699 you can do the reset glitch hack.
This is a hardware modification which involves opening the Xbox 360, you will have to solder a modchip to the 360 in order to hack it.

We have no way to sign content for the 360, hence having to hack the console to remove the restrictions to run unsigned code. That is the only way, the 360 can not be tricked with a hacked update, and we have no way to sign our own xex's to run on a stock consoles.

You also dont need to give a reason for editing your posts, it says "Optional" so you can leave the reason blank.

To develop for the 360 you need the Xbox 360 SDK, which we can not link to here... however you can find it if you Google.
However for hacked consoles you can use Libxenon, which is totally legal and open source - http://www.libxenon.org/
