Hey there, I hope your still maintaining this thread?

I've followed your tutorial, and gotten up to the bit of restoring the partition 2 on the newly hacked HDD but I can't open it in Xplorer 360 to restore it, also it doesn't look like HDDHackr did anything to the drive although it said it was successful? I all the original partitions are still there and I can see them, all the files are still there. I dd turn off AHCI mode as well (the only other option was IDE mode), I know that for sure because when I plugged my laptop HDD back in I had to restart and enable it again in the BIOS so my OS would load up.

Any help or ideas as to what happened?

    Yes. Undo the drive again.
Is there any sata settings you can change?

I've tried running Xplorer as admin twice with no success. It showed up on the Xbox when I had it in a drive enclosure and connected vis USB, but I haven't tried through the SATA connector. I'll give it ago now.

    EDIT:

I've just connected it up and straight away it said I need a system update to connect to LIVE, so I just backed out of that and went to the Storage area and it's there but says "Unformatted" and has the Microsoft letter logo on the bottom left of the hard drive option, it also dose not specify any storage space on the drive.

Shall I format and attempt to connect to Xplorer again?

Connect the drive directly and format the drive using the console(you will need to enter the console serial number) . Then try to use xplorer360 (for transferring partition 2 or for 20gb drives)
or xplorer360 250gb, 320gb, 500gb edition for the different types of drive size to transfer data to partition 3.

Okay thanks, I'll try this later because I'm extremely tired lol (its almost 5am for me) and do you know where I can find the 120GB version? I'm upgrading from a 60GB to a spare 160GB but as stated in the tutorial I can only use 120 which is still double what did have lol..... And last question, is there any possibly of being banned from live for doing this?

    Cheers! :)

    Hey guys, quick question:

I have a brand new Xbox 360 E (no modchips, Xbox Live access), will the 500GB setup work for me as is or am I better off going the 320GB route?

    Thanks

    Alright, noob here.

After dealing with this evil that is windows 8, I finally got my usb loader to boot and i got HDDHACKR to run.

The thing is, im using a usb to sata cable on my asus laptop, and in windows, the usb/sata hdd is recognized, but under HDDHACKR, it is nowhere to be found.

When I open/run HDDHACKR, it shows the primary SATA device, which is my hard drive, and then 3 other empty sata connections.

Is there any other information needed to help me troubleshoot my problem? Thanks!

Hddhackr only works using a direct sata connection.

Thanks! I went ahead and purchased a WD5000LPVX.

    It arrived today!

It already contains some scratches on the label because I was trying it fit it in my Xbox hard disk case.

Will let you know if I'm successful.

    Cheers!

    Hi to all,

After a long time trying to get this hard disk working with the Xbox 360, I come back to you looking for help.

Situation: Xbox 360 is a new E version (4GB model); hard disk is WD5000LPVX, flashed HDDSS500.bin using HDDHACKR 1.40 on a Dell Latitude E6410 through it's SATA connector, BIOS set to ATA mode; flashes OK, no errors both on MSDOS and FREEDOS.
Xbox360 does not detect it no matter what. I have tried creating partition 0/2/3 using HDDHACKR but it freezes on MSDOS after completion and gives me some sort of memory error on FREEDOS.

I borrowed a friend of mine's WD3200LPVX and tried flashing HDDSS320.bin; didn't work as well.
I borrowed another hard disk WD2500BEKT; flashed it using HDDSS250.bin; this one worked fine.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

Maybe a flashing error. Undo the drive then reflash it.
