Stated in the tutorial that it's supported. i'm a speed junkie. if it indeed will work i'd keep an eye out for one. Otherwise the 250gb blacks will be just fine.
I personally haven't due to cost. But two things to keep in mind if using a VelociRaptor: VelociRaptors ship on 2.5" to 3.5" adapters that are used to keep the drive cool since they get very hot compared to 5400rpm and 7200rpm drives. So an active (fan) cooling solution should be used when using a VR drive. Mounting it inside the 360 HDD case would result in serious overheating. VelociRaptors use the 12v power line, where most other 5400rpm and 7200rpm drives just draw off the 5v line so the 360 HDD adapter only feeds the drive the 5v power line. So you would have to wire up the 12v power source to the drive caddy. Let us know if you ever do get a velociraptor working in your 360, I would love to hear about the load times and speed increases.
I have been using one for the couple days (ghetto rigged temporarily with PC sata power cable) and there is a speed improvement, like GTA5 doesn't seem to have ANY delayed popups. As far as I'm concerned I can keep driving in any direction and its buttery smooth. I haven't tired flying yet. For GTA I'm using the hard drive and USB stick (instead of using the disc drive) I can't seem to load battlefield 4 faster though; textures do load up quicker in the beginning of a round and I do get in the server about 2-3 seconds before anybody else, but its not that much of an improvement. I've heard about people who use a memory stick heavily in order to speed things up even further but I can't understand the fundamentals enough to do so. The only instant where it seems to be working is from GTA 5. Can anyone explain to me how a hard drive/memory stick/drive combo data combs? In this case my HD is the fastest moving part here, so how do I put the most data intensive disc/installation package/add-on on it? Does anyone know these things? My ongoing velociraptor mod it is at https://digiex.net/guides-reviews/c...0-phat-falcon-mod-show-tell-pseudo-guide.html Cheers
Battlefield 4 has an issue with loading on both xbox 360 & xbox one (not sure if this effects playstation & pc) , most of the time the sounds and hd textures take longer to load on the start of a multiplayer match.
