This is the way, however the homebrew scene is not exactly thriving at the moment in regards to emulators unfortunately.

With some trickery you can however inject roms for N64, DS and other Virtual Console releases, meaning you can load your fav roms with Loadiine. For example replace a rom in a DS virtual console game with Pokemon and play Pokemon Heart Gold on your TV.

It works fine on 5.5.1E, if you read the section of the tutorial "Loading the Homebrew Launcher on Wii U" i wrote about adding the bookmark.

My Wii U has been on 5.3.2 since i got it around 14 months ago, however it's been shown iosu access has been achieved on 5.1.1 (esentially a better hack than what we have now). With that in mind I updated and can still do everything i did on 5.3.2, with 5.5.1.

If your not on 5.5.1 it's probably worth updating ASAP as currently no disc based games have the 5.5.1 update, however as of the time i'm posting this is still the latest firmware so you can easily update online. If your reading this in the future do your research and ensure no new update has been released before updating online. 5.5.1 is the latest update as of 22.08.16.

5.5.1 seems just as reliable for homebrew, I can launch the Homebrew Launcher first time, as I could on 5.3.2:

    I need help.
The Exploit worked perfectly at first.
When i installed an app it always says FSMount<something> failed
i tried uninstalling the app (the app was: [release] Homebrew App Store (for WiiU) | GBAtemp.net -> The Independent Video Game Community)
i once got an "video cannot load" error and 2 buttons: reload page and cancel i clicked reload and it was a normal crash
im trying to format it and put the starter pack again on it ill add an reply to my reply when i finish

    hi,
first thanks for this guide =)

is it possible to play mario kart with pad AND ps3 or xbox360 controller one with pad, the other xbox or ps3 controller?

you start the hid to vpad and gets back to wii u menu. but you start the game from there, and not with loadline.
if i start then homebrew it crash.

or isnt it possible to play with pad and ps3/xbox 2players.

HID to VPAD only works with legit games, however i think support is built in to newer loadline builds.

At the moment it only works for one player, that could change in the future though.

    ????

Whenever I access the homebrew website, i see what looks like a video, with the screen black except for the play button and length. The wii u is also frozen. is this normal when it crashes? or did i do something wrong.

    Fails every time

Hey. It all works fine, with everything onto my sd card, but then it says "could not load file /wiiu/apps/homebrew_launcher/homebrew_launcher.elf"
Please help! I've followed everything completely and formatted my sd card to fat32 with the files on the sd card.

This really helped me, a lot!

Really, the second I saw this, I said to myself: "I homebrewed my Wii once, I can do it again, on my brother's Wii U."

What my brother really wished when homebrewing his Wii U, was to play MK8 with the GC controller. That wish came true.

Thank you, InsaneNutter! I wish to give a positive rating, but I'm still new here since I registered today. How do I give a rating to this thread?

Still, thank you, for real. :)

Insanenutter, I need your help. Like someone else on here earlier I think I am reading too many things and getting confused. I've been reading for months and its getting worse. From what I understand (i think) an sd card about 2gb in size is for modding the vwii and an sd card about 32gb is for modding the wii u? Can i use both of these or do i have to decide which one i want to mod and use that? And how can I run wii u games from the sd card? Arent the game sizes huge? do i just put a game on the card every time i want to play one? Please help. I am so lost here.

You can use any size SD card to hack the Wii U, the bigger the better if you wish to store games on it. It doesn't matter, you can always get a larger SD card at a later date.

For hacking the vWii you need a 2gb SD card, however once hacked you can use any size you like. I'd suggest you hack your Wii U first and worry about the vWii later so you don't get confused.

Ok, thanks. I will do the WII U first. I already did my wii so Im good if I want to play games on there. So I will be putting all my games on the sd card to play them? Then just delete and put new ones on when I want to play more?

As a future tip don't follow guides to hack the Wii when hacking the vWii, you will likely break it if you do.

You can happily add / delete from your SD card any time you want.

This is what I am getting. Tried 9 times so far. Should I just keep trying or is this really wrong? I don't mind trying over and over as long as i'm doing it right.
