I have used an external 1 TB My Passport HD for over a year. It is set to install new games and save data there, and is currently at +/- 45% used.

My daughter recently installed the new Tomb Raider, and since then while playing she gets the error "unable to save". However, her save files were there.

In one of the forums it was suggested to power down the Xbox, remove the disk, and re-connect.

Now, the Xbox system sees that the disk is 45% full, but cannot see the individual files.

Any suggestions what the cause could be?

    Thank you

The Xbox One won't save to external drives as far as im aware so your saves should be safe regardless, their backed up to the cloud anyway.

You could try using Xbox One External USB Storage Device Converter to convert the drive to be used on a PC, then convert it back to Xbox mode and see if that makes a difference.

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I connected the HD to a WIN7 partition and it loaded new drivers. Before I could run the converter, I got a call. In the meantime the HD was connected back to the Xbox, when I came back, all the files were visible again.
So the problem cleared for now. Thank you again for taking the time.
