I am still stuck hacking it and using emulators on it. it is a psp 1004, pink datecode 6c. emulators try to start and then white (quick) and next black screen appear and all i can is to re-power it. can there be something ruined by another person (2nd hand)? or should i try pandora's battery? somehow the emulators try to use a special function? when running deadelus n64 emulator mario keeps running to the left (as if the button were stuck). I did a downgrade to 6.20 chronoswitch and then to 6.60 (even b10 fix). what else can i try? thank you.

Hello and I'm new here on this site but I was wondering if I can update my firmware which is 5.00 M33 to your 6.xx here I see. The problem I've is that I've no idea what I'm doing and so if you can message me back whenever you can or hopefully someone who wasn't the person who posted the main thread to help me out in updating my PSP. I also have an issue with establishing a WIFI connection b/c the modem/router I've; my PSP cannot pick it up for when trying to connect, the prompt is: "NOT SUPPORTED." If you can tell me what this is about; that'd be great. I did see however on some YOUTUBE video; changing WEP>WPA vice versa but I can't seem to do it myself.

Im running the 6.61-c2 revision, and see the three directories included in the 6.61 PRO-C2_22-01-2015.zip. However no other ROMs appear. If I put the .iso or .cso files in the PSP/GAME folder nothing happens and they don't show. If I create a folder like FOO and put them in there I see a "file corrupted" entry in the list. Is there something special I need to do? I'm assuming that since the other tools like pspident work that the BIOS must be using the patched version, which is what shows up in system->system info area. Please help!

Have you run the fast recovery app if you didn't permanently install the CFW?

Also ISO's go in the ISO folder on the root of your memory stick which is something to keep in mind.

Yes, I ran that fast recovery and if I go to the system information area I see that it is using the CD2 firmware. I have my ISO's and the ISO folder set up, but it doesn't seem to be detecting them there. Do they have to be iso format and not cso?

BTW: Where should I see them? In the memory stick area of the games tab? Where the fast recovery is?

Yes the game should show up in there. I presume your ISO's / CSO are not in zip files or anything else?

Is the memory stick FAT32 formatted? as the PSP will not read NTFS.

Hello people, been trying to find a good place to ask around a couple questions since I'm unexperienced with this stuff.
Anyway, the main thing is that a couple games don't work, let me explain.

Naruto Shippuden ultimate ninja storm impact - i got to fix it but the problem was that when i launch at and try to create the save file it just goes black screen, i putted the memory stick into another psp that has 6.60 firmware and installed it, hopped it back into the older one and checked and it worked.

Dragon ball z tenkaichi budokai - this game just doesn't work no matter what I do! I get black screen when i open it. I tried different isos, works fine on another psp but this won't open it, tried goofing around i the vsh menu and recovery menu, nothing. Even tried doing the "install data" thing where it installs 600 mb worth of game memory for quicker load speed and it still wouldn't work on the psp, not sure if that even helped but still.

There's probably a lot more games that It wouldn't open or crash and etc. but i just haven't tried that many.

    The psp's model - 2003
    firmware - 5.50 Prome-4

Is it the firmware that's causing this?
Do i have to delete this firmware, install the official one and then install this one?
I'm scared of bricking it because that's just my luck when it comes to electronics.
I'd love if you could explain me if you know how to. If you need any more information
then i'd be glad to provide it if I can.

It will be a firmware issue i suspect, quite a few games require much newer firmware.

I went from 5.50 when creating this tutorial, so just follow the process and you should be fine. It's pretty hard to totally brick a PSP as you can create a pandora battery to recover bricked PSP's.

Hi, I got the 6.60 CFW on my PSP-1001. I'm using a chromebook to download playstation 2 ISO's but when i move them over to the "ISO" folder on the psp, they don't work. I even tried the M33 driver option but nothing. Not sure if i need to download a kernel add-on, different CFW or what but when they are downloaded, the iso file can be opened up and its all broken down into multiple files. I'm not sure if they are supposed to be like that or if the iso file is supposed to look like a disc icon.?.?.?... Basically doing this from chromebook is confusing and i need some help...i greatly appreciate it!

You probably need to extract the files with WinRAR or 7zip depending. As to doing this on a Chromebook im not sure as to how easy it will be. If you have access to Android apps on your Chromebook then RAR should do this, you might also find a plugin for Chrome, although theirs nothing I can recommend plugin wise.

Hi, I was wondering if I can use this method to update my PSP 1000 to the latest version. My PSP is already installed with CFW 6.39 PRO-B10. Also I was wondering if this method would also include the VSH Menu and CW Cheat In-Game Menu in the install.I had my PSP hacked shortly after I bought it in 2012, and a friend had done the hacking for me since he was more experienced with the hacking scenes than I was. (I'm more experienced now since I've had my PS2, 3DS, Wii, WiiU and PS Classic hacked since then)

I want to upgrade so I can transfer my PSOne Classics I legally own from the PSN store to my PSP. I can't do that since Sony shut down the PSP PSN servers. (I'm aware of a method to transfer games from the PS3 to PSP provided the PSP is at 6.50 and higher)

So just follow the guide to the letter?

I'll look into CWcheat menu. Its apparently a plug in.
